How To Be Saved

How To Know For Sure

That Your Sins Are Forgiven

  1. Are you aware that God is the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything in it; and, therefore, He is the Owner?

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Holy Bible, Genesis 1:1, KJV)

Note: Seeming God created it, He has every right to set the rules for it, just like you set the rules for what you own (your car, your computer, your house, your tools, etc.).

“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Holy Bible, Psalms 24:1, KJV)

Note: The earlier that you acknowledge this fact, the more abundant and filled with purpose your life will be.

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 12:1, KJV)

Note: That is right where Satan has attacked – the youth. He does not want young people to remember their Creator (let alone, obey Him), so he has put forth the lie of evolution from the very start in school. Young people have been taught that they evolved from animals, and are here by accident. That is why many of them have no purpose in life, and search for love in the wrong ways. Creation is the very foundation of why we must answer to God one day. The theory of evolution has been one of Satan’s most successful weapons to deceive mankind.

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.” (Holy Bible, 1 Timothy 6:20, KJV)

  1. Are you aware that every one of us must answer to the Owner, who is God?

“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Holy Bible, Romans 14:12, KJV)

Note: Are you sure that you are ready for that accounting? What are the rules? What is expected of you in life? That is why it is so important for you to read the Bible, because you are going to be held accountable for what God has written.

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” (Holy Bible, John 12:48, KJV)

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (Holy Bible, John 5:39 39, KJV)

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (Holy Bible, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, KJV)

  1. Are you willing to admit that you are not ready to stand before God, because He is holy, and you have personally sinned?

“Thou shalt not bear false witness…” (Holy Bible, Exodus 20:16, KJV)

Note: How many lies do you have to tell to be a liar? Just one. Have you ever been guilty of not fully telling the truth? Then you have broken God’s Law.

“Thou shalt not steal.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 20:15, KJV)

Note: How many things do you have to steal to be a thief? Just one. Have you ever took something that was not yours (money, candy, music, things from work or family, credit for a task, etc.)? Then you have broken God’s Law.

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 5:27-28, KJV)

Note: Do you see that wrong thoughts are sin? You are breaking God’s Law.

“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 20:7, KJV)

Note: Have you ever cussed or swore using God’s name? That is breaking God’s Law.

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.” (Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:26, KJV)

Note: Have you ever gone to bed angry at someone? That is sin. That is breaking God’s Law.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Holy Bible, Romans 3:10, KJV)

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (Holy Bible, James 4:17, KJV)

Note: Have you always done the good things that you should do? No. Then you have sinned and broken God’s Law.

  1. Do you realize that the penalty for your sin is death, and that if you die with your sin unforgiven, it will send you to hell and to the lake of fire for ever and ever?

“For the wages of sin is death.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:23, KJV)

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Holy Bible, Psalms 9:17, KJV)

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Holy Bible, Revelation 21:8, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that the only way that you can be saved from being cast into hell, is if someone who is perfect is willing to pay the penalty for your sin?

Note: No person upon earth fits that qualification.

“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 7:20, KJV)

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Holy Bible, Romans 3:23, KJV)

Note: Any person born of a normal conception and birth, has that sin nature passed down to them from their parents.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Holy Bible, Romans 5:12, KJV)

Note: All of us were hopelessly condemned because of our sin. Only God could do something to help us, because only God is perfect and sinless.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (Holy Bible, John 3:16-18, KJV)

  1. Do you realize why Jesus is the only One who meets the qualifications to pay for your sins?

Note: Jesus was not born with a sinful nature, like we were, because of His miraculous conception and birth.

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 1:18-23, KJV)

Note: Jesus is perfect, because He is God Almighty in the flesh.

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 1:23, KJV)

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Holy Bible, Revelation 1:8, KJV)

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.” (Holy Bible, Isaiah 43:10-11, KJV)

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (Holy Bible, 1 John 5:7, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for your sin when He died on the cross?

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Holy Bible, Romans 5:8, KJV)

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 3:18, KJV)

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 2:24, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can be saved, and not through any good works of your own?

“…The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (Holy Bible, 1 John 1:7, KJV)

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 1:18-19, KJV)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Holy Bible, Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV)

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” (Holy Bible, Revelation 1:5, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that after the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins, He then arose victorious from the grave the third day; thus proving that His perfect, pure blood was sufficient to pay for all the sins of the whole world?

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that to be saved, you must be willing to repent of your sin (you must be willing to turn from your sinful life and false beliefs to the Lord Jesus Christ, and allow Him to transform your life and give you the power to live a new life for Him)?

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Holy Bible, Luke 13:3, KJV)

“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 3:1-2, KJV)

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 4:17, KJV)

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” (Holy Bible, Acts 3:19, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that after you get saved, the first step of obedience to the Lord is for you to publicly acknowledge Him by getting baptized under the water?

“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:11, KJV)

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Holy Bible, Acts 2:41, KJV)

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:3-5, KJV)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that when you get saved, you become a child of God? He will never forsake you, but if you sin and do not confess it and repent, then your fellowship with God is going to be broken, and He is going to come after you and discipline you as one of His children.

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (Holy Bible, John 6:37-39, KJV)

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” (Holy Bible, John 10:28-29, KJV)

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, KJV)

“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” (Holy Bible, Hebrews 12:5-6, KJV)

“For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Holy Bible, Psalms 38:18, KJV)

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.” (Holy Bible, Psalms 51:1-3, KJV)

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (Holy Bible, 1 John 1:6-9, KJV)

Note: As soon as you realize that you have sinned in some way, confess it to God, and repent of it.

“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 11:31-32, KJV)

  1. Do you realize that you are only one heartbeat away from heaven or hell at this moment, and that you have no guarantee of another day to make this decision?

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (Holy Bible, James 4:14, KJV)

“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Holy Bible, Proverbs 27:1, KJV)

“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 6:1-2, KJV)

“Dear Jesus, I do believe that you are the Son of God; that you are God Almighty in the flesh, the Creator of heaven and earth. I do believe that you are the only Savior; that you died on the cross for me, and gave your pure, precious, sinless blood to pay my sin debt; and that you then arose from the grave the third day, proving that your blood was sufficient to pay the price. I do now repent of my sin, and receive you as my Savior. Please forgive me of all my sins, and save my soul. Please raise up my life from sin and shame, and use it now for your glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
