Book of Genesis

Part 1

Chapter 2

Genesis 1:1

B. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the __________________ God created the heaven and the earth.”

Note:  In this verse, the word beginning, is referring to the beginning of the earth—not to the beginning of GOD.  God is eternal, which means that He had no beginning.

        1. Psalm 90:1-2 says, “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.  ____________ the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst ____________ the earth and the world, even from

______________________ to ______________________, thou art God.”

Note:  God is the only one who has always existed.  We all had a beginning at conception in the wombs of our mothers.

        2. Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my ______________   ________.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

This fact about God having no beginning is also a fact mentioned in regard to the Lord Jesus Christ,

which proves that Jesus is God Almighty, not just a man or an angel.

3. Micah 5:2 says, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of ______, from ______________________.”

Note:  Jesus has existed from everlasting in the past.  That can only be said about God.

4. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ the same __________________, and to ______, and for ________.”

5. Referring to Jesus, Revelation 1:7-8 says, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which ____, and which ______, and which is to ________, the ________________.”

Note:  Jesus is referred to as the Almighty—the Almighty God.

6. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The ____________  ______, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

7. Matthew 1:23 agrees with that, saying, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, ______ with us.”

Note:  How can Jesus be the eternal God, if He was born upon earth in the womb of Mary?

        8. Back to Isaiah 9:6, it says, “For unto us a __________ is ________, unto us a ______ is __________: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Note:  Notice that it says, “For unto us a CHILD is BORN.”

By a miraculous conception in the womb of the virgin Mary, Jesus’ earthly BODY of FLESH had a BEGINNING,

but that was not the beginning of Jesus’ existence.

9. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a ____________ shall conceive, and bear a ______, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Note:  Back to Isaiah 9:6, the phrase, “Unto us a SON is GIVEN”  explains how the eternal Son of God was given from heaven.

Mary is the mother of Jesus’ earthly body of flesh, but MARY is NOT the “MOTHER OF GOD.”

Jesus, the eternal Son of God, has always existed—but Mary has not.

10. John 3:12-13 says, “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came ________ from ____________, even the Son of man which is ____ heaven.”

Jesus was standing upon earth, and at the same time said

that He was in heaven.  Only God can be everywhere at once.

11. Proverbs 15:3 says, “The ________ of the LORD are in __________ place, beholding the evil and the good.”

Note:  God is the Owner of this world, and He is watching everything that is taking place.  That means that He sees everything that you do.  Are you ready to answer to Him?

12. Matthew 25:41 says, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into ______________________  ________, prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Review:

 1. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the __________________ God created the heaven and the earth.”

 2. In this verse, the word beginning, is referring to the beginning of the __________, not to the beginning of God.  God had no beginning, because He is eternal.

 3. Psalms 90:1-2 says, “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from ______________________ to ______________________, thou art God.”

4. This fact about God having no beginning, is also a fact mentioned in regard to the Lord Jesus Christ.  This proves that Jesus is ______ Almighty—not just a man or an angel.

5. Micah 5:2 is talking about Jesus, and says, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from ______________________.”

6. Isaiah 9:6, says, “For unto us a CHILD is ________, unto us a SON is __________: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

7. Notice that it says, “For unto us a CHILD is BORN.”  By a miraculous conception in the womb of the virgin Mary, Jesus’ real earthly body of __________ had a beginning—but that was not the beginning of Jesus’ existence.

8. Mary is the mother of Jesus’ earthly body of flesh, but MARY is NOT the “MOTHER OF ______.”  Jesus, the eternal Son of God, has always existed—but Mary has not.
