Should you be friends with a witch?

Question:

Is it bad to befriend witches? I know a witch who is really a nice guy, and I want to know if it’s a sin to be there for him and be his friend.

Answer:

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 says, “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a WITCH, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a WIZARD, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”

Although you say that this man is a “nice guy,” the Bible passage above tells us otherwise. The Bible tells us that witches take part in the sacrifices of children, and in seeking divination and counsel from the devil and his angels. These things are an abomination to God, and they ruin a nation. That is what God says about it.

Do you want to be a friend of such an one? Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” If you become a friend of his, then it will prove harmful to you. If, on the other hand, you warn him of the error of his way, then you may help him to come to the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will also spare yourself from great harm.

Ezekiel 3:18,19 says, “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
