Islam – Part 2

Chapter 1

#8 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of the Person of Jesus Christ.

    1. Matthew 16:13-17 says, “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man ____? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ____ that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the ____________, the ______ of the living ______. And Jesus answered and said unto him, ______________ art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my ____________ which is in heaven.”

The Muslim considers it BLASPHEMY

to SAY that JESUS is GOD ALMIGHTY.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 5:17, “In BLASPHEMY indeed are those that say that ALLAH is CHRIST the son of Mary… for to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth.” Allah is not the true God of the Bible, but the Quran clearly denies that Jesus is God Almighty.

    2. Matthew 1:21 says, “And she shall bring forth a ______, and thou shalt call his name __________: for he shall ________ his people from their sins.”

    3. Matthew 1:23 says, “Behold, a ____________ shall be with child, and shall bring forth a ______, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, ______ with us.”

    4. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a ______ is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The ____________ ______, The everlasting ____________, The Prince of Peace.”

Jesus, the Son of God, is here called

the MIGHTY GOD, the everlasting Father.

    5. Revelation 1:5-8 says, “And from __________ ____________, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the ________, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the ________________.”

Note: The Bible clearly says that Jesus Christ is the Lord, the Almighty God. The Quran says that is blasphemy: Surah 5:72, “They do BLASPHEME who say ‘Allah is Christ the son of Mary.’ Whoever joins other gods with Allah — Allah will forbid him the Garden, and the FIRE WILL BE HIS ABODE.”

As we will see in this study, Allah is clearly not the Almighty God

of the Bible, but the point here is that the Muslim is taught that Jesus

is not God Almighty — which is a clear contradiction to the Bible.

    6. Hebrews 1:8 shows us that God the Father Himself calls Jesus “God.” “But unto the ______ he saith, Thy throne, O ______, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

The Muslim considers Jesus to be no more

than a messenger or a prophet.

Note: The Quran, in Surah 5:75 says, “CHRIST, the son of Mary, WAS NO MORE THAN A MESSENGER; many were the messengers that passed away before him.” The Quran makes it clear that they consider Jesus to be no more than a messenger, and that there were MANY MESSENGERS before Him that passed away.

The Muslim considers it BLASPHEMY

to SAY that GOD is a TRINITY.

The Quran says in Surah 5:73, “They do BLASPHEME who say: ALLAH IS ONE OF THREE IN A TRINITY.” But the Bible is clear that God is a Trinity (three Persons in One).

    7.   1 John 5:7 says, “For there are __________ that bear record in heaven, the ____________, the ________, and the ________ __________: and these three are ______.”

The Muslim considers it BLASPHEMY

to SAY that JESUS is the SON of GOD.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 6:101, “How can He have a son when he hath no consort?” The word consort means, “A companion; a partner; an intimate associate; a wife or husband” (Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary). The Bible makes is clear that God does NOT have a WIFE. That is why the Holy Ghost miraculously came upon the virgin Mary.

    8. Luke 1:30-35 says, “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt ________________ in thy ________, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the ______ of the ______________: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, ______ shall this be, seeing I know not a ______? And the angel answered and said unto her, The ________ __________ shall come upon thee, and the power of the ______________ shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the ______ of ______.”

This conception was not the result of a physical relationship between God

and Mary, but of a miracle taking place in the womb of Mary.  If it was the result

of a physical relationship, then Mary would no longer be a virgin. But the Bible is clear

that not only would a virgin conceive, but also that a virgin would be with child.

The only way that a virgin could be with child, is if the conception

had been the result of a non-physical relationship miracle.

    9. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a ____________ shall ________________, and ________ a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Note: The virgin would not just conceive a son, but the virgin would also bear the son. In a regular physical relationship, that would be impossible — the virgin would no longer be a virgin after conception, so a virgin could never be with child. But Mary was still a virgin when she gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ, proving that she had had no physical relationship with anyone.

    10. Matthew 1:23 says, “Behold, a ____________ shall be ________ __________, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Note: So the Muslim rejects the idea that God has a Son, but the Bible is clear that Jesus is indeed the Son of God. Remember what Jesus said when Peter called Him the Son of God?

    11. Matthew 16:16-17 says “…Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the ____________, the ______ of the living ______. And Jesus answered and said unto him, ______________ art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not ________________ it unto thee, but my ____________ which is in heaven.”

Jesus blessed Peter for saying that, He (Jesus),

was the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Note: The Quran says that it is blasphemy to say such a thing (that Jesus is the Son of God). The Bible says that it is a truth revealed to people from God the Father in heaven. How can people say that the Quran does not contradict the Bible — it clearly does. How can people say that Allah is the God of the Bible — he clearly is not.

Jesus blessed Peter for his confession, but the Muslim curses

people for saying that Jesus is the Son of God. The Quran says

in Surah 9:30, “…the Christians call Christ  the Son of God. That is a saying

from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the Unbelievers of old used to say.

ALLAH’S CURSE BE ON THEM: how they are deluded away from the Truth!”

The Bible is clear in Matthew 16:15-17, “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the SON of the LIVING GOD. And Jesus answered and said unto him, BLESSED ART THOU, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”

The Muslim says that JESUS

should NOT be WORSHIPPED.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 9:31, “And (they take as their Lord) Christ, the son of Mary; Yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (far is he) from having the partners they associate (with Him).” But the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the Son of God — God in the flesh, and is worthy of worship.

    12. Matthew 2:1-2 says, “Now when __________ was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came ________ men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to ______________ him.”

    13. Hebrews 1:1-8 says, “______, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his ______, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my ______, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a ______? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God ______________ him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the ______ he saith, Thy throne, O ______, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

Note: What we see in this passage is that God the Father is saying that Jesus is His Son, and that His Son is worthy of worship. God the Father then calls His own Son, “God.”

How can anyone honestly say that Christians and Muslims worship

the same God? The Muslims say that their god, Allah, does NOT

have a SON.    Does the God of the Bible have a Son?

    14. John 3:16-18 says, “For ______ so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten ______, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For ______ sent not his ______ into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten ______ of ______.”

Islam – Part 2

Chapter 2

#8 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of the Person of Jesus Christ. (continued)

The Muslims claim that Jesus was only a prophet and messenger, and did not

claim to be the Son of God — but even Satan knew that Jesus is the Son of God.

    15. Matthew 4:3-7 says, “And when the ______________ came to him, he said, If thou be the ______ of ______, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the __________ taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the ______ of ______, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

Even the demons know

that Jesus is the Son of God.

    16. Matthew 8:28-29 says, “And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two __________________ with ____________, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, __________, thou ______ of ______? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”

Even the Jewish leaders clearly understood

that Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God.

    17. Matthew 26:63-66 says, “But __________ held his peace. And the high ____________ answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the ____________, the ______ of ______. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.”

    18. John 5:16-18 says, “And therefore did the ________ persecute __________, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My ____________ worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that ______ was his ____________, making himself __________ with ______.”

    19. Matthew 27:39-43 says, “And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the ______ of ______, come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the ______ of ______.”

After watching Jesus suffer and die,

the centurion also confessed that Jesus is the Son of God.

    20. Matthew 27:54 says, “Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the ______ of ______.”

Mark also testified

that Jesus is the Son of God.

    21. Mark 1:1 says, “The beginning of the gospel of __________  ____________, the ______ of ______.”

The angel Gabriel testified

that Jesus is the Son of God.

    22. Luke 1:35 says, “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the ______ of ______.”

John the Baptist testified

that Jesus is the Son of God.

    23. John 1:29-34 says, “The next day ________ seeth __________ coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare ____________ that this is the ______ of ______.”

As we have previously seen, God the Father calls Jesus

His Son.  And, in the passage below, God the Father

tells people to honor His Son as Himself.

    24. John 5:20-23 says, “For the ____________ loveth the ______, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the ____________ raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the ______ quickeneth whom he will. For the ____________ judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the ______: That all men should ____________ the ______, even as they ____________ the ____________. He that honoureth not the ______ honoureth not the ____________ which hath sent him.”

Anyone that claims to be honoring God, while at the same time

trying to teach that Jesus is less than God, is not honoring God at all.

#9 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of dealing with thieves.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 5:38, “As to the thief, male or female, CUT OFF HIS OR HER HANDS: a punishment by way of example, from Allah.” That is a clear contradiction to what God says to do to a thief.

    1. Exodus 22:1-9 says, “If a man shall __________ an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall ______________ five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a __________ be found breaking up, and be smitten that he ______, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full ________________________; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall ______________ double. If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make ______________________. If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make ______________________. If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the __________ be found, let him ______ double. If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods. For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall ______ double unto his neighbour.”

God did not instruct His people to cut off the hands of thieves.  God commanded

for thieves to make restitution. Restitution means “to make amends, to make good,

to restore, to be at peace” (Strong’s Concordance, H-7999). To cut off the thieves’ hand

would make it about impossible for them to obey God and to pay back for their crimes.

Note: Today, insurance companies, and the public through them, are having to bear the burden of paying for the acts of criminals. Thieves should have to repay for their own crimes. To be a real deterrent for them to not steal again, the amount to repay was double to five times the amount stolen. Please see Bible Course BC-E-104, on the subject of Hell, for a detailed study of restitution in the matter of stealing.

The Bible only taught to cut off someone’s limbs, if that

is what they had wrongly done to someone else first.

    2. Exodus 21:22-25 says, “If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for ________, Eye for ______, tooth for __________, hand for ________, foot for ________, Burning for ______________, wound for __________, stripe for ____________.”

Note: Today, it is common for criminals to beat up elderly people and rob them. Then, when the criminals get caught, they quickly cry, “Police brutality!” if they get roughed up at all when being arrested. The above verses make it clear that criminals should have inflicted upon them the same physical abuse with which they harm their victims. If they beat their victims, then they should be beaten. If they cause their victims to lose a hand, or a foot, or an eye as a result of their injuries in the crime — then the thieves should have their hand or foot cut off, or their eye taken out. If this Biblical punishment were practiced, criminals would think twice before laying a hand upon anyone.

The Bible teaches like-punishment for crimes,

but Islam teaches brutality.

    3. Judges 1:4-7 says, “And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men. And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites. But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his ____________ and his great ________. And Adonibezek said, __________________ and ______ kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have ________, so God hath ________________ me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.”

Note: Sadly, those with great power and authority sometimes brutally abuse people. Such was the case with Adonibezek. He had conquered threescore and ten kings. A score equals 20, so threescore and ten equals 70. These were all kings whom he had conquered, and then cut off their thumbs and great toes. That was a brutal thing to do, and so when God’s people conquered him, they inflicted like-punishment upon him. To requite means, “to make return for; to repay; to make retaliation for; to avenge” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary). Adonibezek confessed that he got exactly what he deserved for the brutality he had practiced upon others. Islam does not follow the like-punishment principle found in the Bible, but follows the brutality of men like Adonibezek. This brutality is practiced, not just upon thieves, but upon all who are not Muslims.

Islam – Part 2

Chapter 3

#10 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of instructing that all unbelievers be killed.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 8:12, “I will INSTILL TERROR INTO THE HEARTS OF THE UNBELIEVERS: SMITE YE ABOVE THEIR NECKS and smite all their finger tips off them.”

Imagine how the news media would pounce upon the Christian faith, if that is

what the Bible clearly said to do to everyone who would not convert to Christianity

(to cut off the unbeliever’s heads, and then mutilate their bodies by cutting off all their fingertips)?

But the news media is afraid of the Muslim’s, so they all but ignore this brutal teaching.

The Quran says in Surah 8:39, “And FIGHT THEM ON UNTIL THERE IS NO MORE TUMULT OR OPPRESSION, AND THERE PREVAILS justice and FAITH IN ALLAH.” The Quran says in Surah 9:5, “But when the forbidden months are past, then FIGHT AND SLAY THE PAGANS WHEREVER YE FIND THEM, and seize them, beleaguer them, and LIE IN WAIT FOR THEM IN EVERY STRATAGEM (OF WAR)…” The Quran says in Surah 9:29, “FIGHT THOSE WHO BELIEVE NOT IN ALLAH nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” This verse teaches that they can let some unbelievers live, if they will pay taxes to them and live in submission to them (to Muslim’s and their laws).

These verses out of the Quran are a

clear contradiction to what Jesus taught.

    1. Matthew 5:38-48 says, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, ________ your ______________, bless them that curse you, do ________ to them that ________ you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

That passage is sure different from what the Muslim’s teach in the Quran.

The Quran says in Surah 9:5, “But when the forbidden months are past, then

FIGHT AND SLAY THE PAGANS WHEREVER YE FIND THEM, and seize them,

beleaguer them, and LIE IN WAIT FOR THEM IN EVERY STRATAGEM (OF WAR)…”

    2. Luke 9:51-56 says, “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did ______ ______________ him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command ________ to come down from heaven, and ______________ them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is ______ come to ______________ men’s lives, but to ________ them. And they went to another village.”

In the flesh, James and John wanted to act like the Muslim’s and destroy anyone

who would not respect and honor their Master. Jesus rebuked James and John

for their attitudes, and reminded them that He was come to save people

— not destroy them.  Their time of destruction will come soon enough.

Now is the time to persuade people to repent and get saved, before it is too late.

Note: If Jesus rebuked James and John for wanting to call fire down from heaven to destroy those people, then why did God send the fire down when Elijah asked for it? The difference is that in the case with James and John, they were upset because the people would not receive Jesus. In the case with Elijah, he had to deliver the news that King Ahaziah was going to die, and the king retaliated by sending soldiers to take him, and he was going to kill Elijah. God sent the fire down to consume the soldiers before they could take Elijah and kill him.

    3.   2 Kings 1:2-4 says, “And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of __________________ the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. But the angel of the LORD said to ____________ the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely ______. And Elijah departed.”

    4.   2 Kings 1:7-15 says, “And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words? And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is ____________ the Tishbite. Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down. And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let ________ come down from heaven, and ______________ thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly. And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let ________ come down from heaven, and ______________ thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight. Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight. And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, ____ down with him: be ______ ____________ of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.”

Note: The difference between Elijah and James and John is clear. Ahaziah had sent his soldiers to take Elijah, and he was going to have them kill him (because he was mad that Elijah delivered the news that he was going to die).

So in the case of Elijah, it was life or death, and the Lord protected Elijah

by consuming the soldiers before they could take Elijah. But in the case

of James and John, there was no threat against them or Jesus that those people

were going to kill them. Those people were just not willing to receive Jesus.

That was no cause for immediate death. What if God killed everyone who did not

receive the Lord Jesus Christ the first time they heard about Him?

Few people would ever live long enough to get saved under those conditions.

The Bible never teaches Christians to kill people who refuse to repent and get saved.

    5. Matthew 10:14-16 says, “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor ________ your __________, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the ________ of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the ______ of ________________, than for that city. Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and ________________ as __________.”

Jesus taught His disciples to not physically retaliate against those who

would not listen to them, but to leave all vengeance to the Judgment Day.

    6. John 12:47-48 says, “And if any man ________ my words, and ______________ ______, I judge him not: for I came not to __________ the world, but to ________ the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the ________ that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the ________ ______.”

Note: The Muslims are taught that they are to strive for vengeance above all else in life. The Quran says in Surah 9:38, “O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter?”  The Quran says in Surah 9:41, “Go ye forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily, and STRIVE AND STRUGGLE WITH YOUR GOODS AND YOUR PERSONS, in the Cause of Allah. That is best for you, if ye (but) knew.”  The Quran says in Surah 9:44, “Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day ASK THEE FOR NO EXEMPTION FROM FIGHTING WITH THEIR GOODS AND PERSONS. And Allah knoweth well those who do their duty.”

The Quran says in Surah 9:52, “Can you expect for us (any fate)

other than one of two glorious things — (MARTYRDOM OR VICTORY)?”

    7. The Bible instructs us to leave the vengeance to God. Hebrews 10:30-31 says, “For we know him that hath said, Vengeance __________________ unto ____, I will recompense, saith the ________. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

If we try to personally take vengeance upon our enemies, then

we are thieves — we are taking some- thing that belongs to God.

“VENGEANCE BELONGETH UNTO ME, I will recompense, saith the LORD.”

    8. Romans 12:19-21 says, “Dearly beloved, ____________ ______ yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, __________________ is ________; I will repay, saith the ________. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but ________________ evil with __________.”

Note: We are not to burn our enemies with fire from heaven or some other physical torment with which we can afflict them. We are to burn them inwardly by the kindness that we show to them, and the resulting conviction in their hearts.

Islam – Part 2

Chapter 4

#11 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of saying that both the Bible and the Quran are the Word of God, and then contradicting that.

Note: Islam, at first, teaches that the Old Testament and the New Testament are the Word of God, and that the Quran is simply more in the same line (more Scripture given from God). The Quran says in Surah 3:3, 4, “It is HE WHO SENT DOWN TO THEE (STEP BY STEP), IN TRUTH, THE BOOK (the Book here is referring to the Quran),…CONFIRMING WHAT WENT BEFORE IT, and He sent down THE LAW (OF MOSES) (referring to the Old Testament)…and THE GOSPEL (OF JESUS) (referring to the New Testament) before this, as a guide to mankind…” So Muhammad claimed that the Quran was sent down from God, just like the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and that it simply confirmed the previous revelation from God (the Bible).

The problem that Muhammad ran into was that if something is perfectly fine the way

it is, then there is no need for something new. If the Old and New Testaments were fine,

then why would people need the Quran? So what started out with kindly words about

the Old and New Testaments, began to change. Now, Muhammad had to

build up the Quran as better than the Bible, to get people to read it.

The Quran says in Surah 10:37, “THIS QURAN IS NOT SUCH AS CAN BE PRODUCED BY OTHER THAN ALLAH; ON THE CONTRARY OF (REVELATIONS) THAT WENT BEFORE IT, and A FULLER EXPLANATION OF THE BOOK — wherein there is not doubt — from the lord of the Worlds.” First, Muhammad claimed that the Quran was SO GOOD, that it could have ONLY been PRODUCED by GOD. Surah 10:37, “This Quran is not such as can be produced by other than Allah…” Second, now Muhammad gives a slam against the Bible. Surah 10:37, “This Quran is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the CONTRARY OF (REVELATIONS) THAT WENT BEFORE IT…”

Now Muhammad contradicts his own statement about the Bible.

He had written that the Bible was sent down from God, and that the Quran

was simply in the same line and confirmed what God already had given

in the Old and New Testaments. Contradicting that statement, Muhammad

now wrote that the Quran is so special, that only God could have produced it

— unlike those revelations which went before it, (meaning the Old and New Testaments).

So now he is contradicting himself and saying that the Bible is really not from God, but from man.

Third, Muhammad continues his writing trying to build up the Quran as superior to the Bible, and says in Surah 10:37, “This Quran is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary of (revelations) that went before it, and a FULLER EXPLANATION OF THE BOOK — WHEREIN THERE IS NOT DOUBT — from the lord of the Worlds.”

So Muhammad was clearly trying to get people to have doubts

about what the Bible says, and to build up his own book, the Quran,

as the only truly authoritative book from God. But from Christians

(who really do believe the Bible), Muhammad ran into strong opposition.

    1. Proverbs 30:5-6 says, “Every word of God is ________: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. ______ thou ______ unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” 2. Revelation 22:18-19 says, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ______ unto these things, God shall add unto him the ______________ that are written in this book: And if any man shall ________ ________ from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the ________ of ________, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Because of these Scriptures, Christians rejected the Quran,

because it tried to add to the Word of God,

and it also contradicted what God had clearly said.

Note: Christians were just fulfilling what Muhammad had earlier admired about them in Surah 5:82 “Strongest among men in enmity to the Believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and NEAREST AMONG THOSE IN LOVE TO THE BELIEVERS WILT THOU FIND THOSE WHO SAY, ‘WE ARE CHRISTIANS’: because amongst these are men DEVOTED TO LEARNING and men who have RENOUNCED THE WORLD, and they are NOT ARROGANT.”

    3. Christians are told to check out what they hear or read. Acts 17:11 says, “These were more __________ than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all __________________ of mind, and ________________ the __________________ daily, whether those things were ____.”

Note: Muhammad was not surprised that Christians would carefully scrutinize the Quran. Surah 4:82 says, “DO THEY NOT CONSIDER THE QURAN (WITH CARE)? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.”

    4. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “__________ ______ things; hold fast that which is good.”

The problem that Muhammad encountered was that he himself did not know

the Bible like he thought he did. He was convinced that the Quran would be

approved by Christians, and that they would find no discrepancy between the two.

Note:  The Quran says in Surah 4:82, “Do they not consider the Quran (with care)? HAD IT BEEN FROM OTHER THAN ALLAH, THEY WOULD SURELY HAVE FOUND THEREIN MUCH DISCREPANCY.” The word discrepancy means, “variance; disagreement” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary). Muhammad had claimed, in Surah 6:19, “THIS QURAN HATH BEEN REVEALED TO ME BY INSPIRATION.” If that statement were true, then Muhammad’s writings would not contradict any of the Bible, because the Bible was given by inspiration of God.

    5.   2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All __________________ is given by ______________________ of ______, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be ______________, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Muhammad talked about the Law (of Moses), which referred to

the Old Testament; and the Gospel (of Jesus), which referred to

the New Testament. These two sections of the Bible do not contradict

each other, but are in harmony. The same cannot be said about the Quran

and the Bible, because the Quran clearly contradicts many things written in the Bible.

Note: Let’s look at some examples of how the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are in harmony with each other.

    6. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is ________, unto us a son is __________: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The ____________ ______, The ______________________ ____________, The Prince of Peace.”

How could you have a person be born, and then call that one, God?

This is an amazing prophecy in the Old Testament, and it explains how

that could be possible — the child is born (the earthly body of flesh is born),

but the son is given (the Son is the eternal God, and is given straight from heaven).

Note: Does the New Testament harmonize with that incredible prophecy, or does it contradict it? The New Testament harmonizes with that prophecy, and shows us the fulfillment of it.

    7. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he ________ his only begotten ______, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

Note: This miraculous event is described in Luke chapter 1.

    8. Luke 1:26-27 says, “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a ____________ espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was ________.”

    9. Luke 1:30-31 says, “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found __________ with God. And, behold, thou shalt ________________ in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name __________.”

    10. Luke 1:32-33 says, “He shall be __________, and shall be called the ______ of the ______________: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”

    11. Luke 1:34-35 says, “Then said Mary unto the angel, ______ shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The ________ __________ shall come upon thee, and the __________ of the ______________ shall overshadow thee: therefore also that ________ thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the ______ of ______.”

    12. The Book of Luke is not the only witness of this event in the New Testament, but also the Book of Matthew. Matthew 1:20-23 says, “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is __________________ in her is of the ________ __________. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name __________: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a ____________ shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name ________________, which being interpreted is, ______ ________ ____.”

Note: So here we see the miraculous fulfillment of how a child could be born, but the Son be given, thus explaining how a person could be born who could be called The Mighty God, and the Everlasting Father. Jesus is God Almighty in the flesh.

The New Testament does not scoff at such a prophecy, but in perfect harmony

with the Old Testament, tells us how that incredible prophecy was indeed fulfilled.

But the Quran disagrees with that Old Testament prophecy, and thus scoffs at it.

In fact, the Quran calls such a prophecy, blasphemy, that Jesus is

God Almighty in the flesh, and One with the Father.

The Quran says in Surah 5:72, “THEY DO BLASPHEME WHO SAY ‘ALLAH IS CHRIST THE SON OF MARY.’ Whoever joins other gods with Allah — Allah will forbid him the Garden, and THE FIRE WILL BE HIS ABODE.”

The Quran clearly says that it is blasphemy to say that Christ is God,

and that whoever does say that will go to hell. It does not sound like

there is too much harmony between the Quran and the Bible, does there?

The Quran says in Surah 5:73, “THEY DO BLASPHEME WHO SAY: ALLAH IS ONE OF THREE IN A TRINITY.”

    13. That does not sound too much in harmony with the Bible in 1 John 5:5-7, which says, “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are __________ that bear record in heaven, the ____________, the ________, and the ________ __________: and these __________ are ______.”

Note: The Quran says in Surah 5:75 “CHRIST, the son of Mary, WAS NO MORE THAN A MESSENGER; MANY WERE THE MESSENGERS THAT PASSED AWAY BEFORE HIM.” The Quran clearly states that Jesus was no more than a messenger or prophet — just like the MANY who passed away before Him.

So the Quran teaches that Jesus was not God, and that He was

no better than any of the prophets that lived before Him.

That clearly contradicts what the Bible teaches, and that is clearly blasphemy.

    14. God the Father is speaking to the Son in Hebrews 1:8, and we read, “But unto the ______ he saith, Thy throne, O ______, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

Note: So God the Father Himself calls the Son, God.

Islam – Part 2

Chapter 5

#11 – The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of saying that both the Bible and the Quran are the Word of God, and then contradicting that. (continued)

The Quran not only denies that Jesus is God,

but also denies that Jesus is even the Son of God.

Note:  The Quran says in Surah 9:30, “…THE CHRISTIANS CALL CHRIST THE SON OF GOD. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) THEY BUT IMITATE WHAT THE UNBELIEVERS OF OLD USED TO SAY. ALLAH’S CURSE BE ON THEM: HOW THEY ARE DELUDED AWAY FROM THE TRUTH!”

There is certainly not much harmony there between the Bible and the Quran.

The Quran puts a curse upon anyone who would even say that Jesus is the Son of God.

    15. That means the Muslim could not even agree to John 3:16-18, “For ______ so loved the world, that he ________ his only begotten ______, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For ______ sent not his ______ into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten ______ of ______.”

Notice, carefully, Muhammad’s statements about Christians.

The Quran says in Surah 2:91, “When it is said to them, ‘BELIEVE IN

WHAT ALLAH HATH SENT DOWN,’” (he was referring to his claim that

the Quran was sent down from God), “THEY SAY, ‘WE BELIEVE IN

WHAT WAS SENT DOWN TO US;’” (the Christians reply that they

believe the Bible was sent down from God, and that they trust it),

“YET THEY REJECT ALL BESIDES,” (the Christians reject all other books

that claim to be from God), “EVEN IF IT BE TRUTH CONFIRMING WHAT

IS WITH THEM.” This shows Muhammad’s increasing frustration  with Christians,

because they were not accepting his book, the Quran, as being from God.

Note: It also shows how little Muhammad actually knew about the teachings of the Bible, because he was still thinking that what he had written in the Quran, was in agreement with the Bible. Please remember what we just saw in John 3:16-18. Those are simple and well known verses of the Bible. In each of those three verses, the Bible affirms that God has a Son. Remember what Muhammad wrote about that? The Quran says in Surah 9:30, “…THE CHRISTIANS CALL CHRIST THE SON OF GOD. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) THEY BUT IMITATE WHAT THE UNBELIEVERS OF OLD USED TO SAY. ALLAH’S CURSE BE ON THEM: HOW THEY ARE DELUDED AWAY FROM THE TRUTH!” This is just a simple reminder that unsaved people do not really understand the Bible.

    16.   1 Corinthians 2:14 says, “But the ______________ man receiveth ______ the things of the Spirit of God: for they are ______________________ unto him: neither can he ________ them, because they are ______________________ discerned.”

Note: When people hear the Bible, but do not believe and obey it, then they deceive themselves — just like Muhammad deceived himself into thinking that his writings agreed with the Bible.

    17. James 1:22 says, “But be ye __________ of the word, and not hearers only, __________________ your ______ selves.”

Note: Muhammad’s frustration did not bring him to repentance and to the point of acknowledging that he had more to learn about the Bible. Instead, he tried to build up himself and his book over the Bible. He wrote in the Quran in Surah 5:59, “Say ‘O PEOPLE OF THE BOOK!’” (referring to the Christians, who believe the Bible) “DO YE DISAPPROVE OF US FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN THAT WE BELIEVE IN ALLAH, AND THE REVELATION THAT HATH COME TO US…?”

This is a clear acknowledgement that Christians were not accepting the name Allah  as

referring to the true and living God. This is a good lesson for many political and religious

leaders in our day who often say that Muslims and Christians worship the same God

— the Christians in Muhammad’s day knew that was not the case at all.  Muhammad’s

statement also clearly shows that Christians were rejecting the Quran as being Scripture.

So Muhammad’s writing in the Quran began to be more critical of the Christians. He wrote in Surah 5:15, “O People of the Book!” (referring to Christians being people of the Book, the Bible), “There hath come to you OUR MESSENGER” (a reference to Muhammad), “Revealing to you MUCH THAT YE USED TO HIDE IN THE BOOK (accusing the Bible of being unclear and hiding the truth from the people), “And PASSING OVER MUCH (THAT IS NOW UNNECESSARY); (claiming that much in the Bible is now unnecessary for God’s people), “There hath come to you from Allah a PERSPICUOUS BOOK” (saying that the Quran is much plainer and easier to understand than the Bible — the word perspicuous means, “plain to the understanding especially because of clarity and precision of presentation” (Merriam Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)) So Muhammad tries to persuade Christians that he is the latest prophet from God, and that the Bible is somewhat outdated, but that he has brought a clearer and easier-to-understand word from God, the Quran.

It is the same old pitfall of every cult. They first claim to believe the Bible

and have a high regard for it; but just say that they have further word

from God in their writings and teachings. But without fail, those leaders

lack true understanding of the Bible, so it shows forth the errors of their

books and doctrines. At that point, they reach a crossroads: they must

either repent and admit their error; or they must claim that their works

and teachings now supersede the Bible. Sadly, cult leaders choose the

latter choice — to exalt their writings and teachings above God’s Word, the Bible.

That is exactly the choice that Muhammad made — to try and exalt the Quran above the Bible.

    18. Mark 7:7-9 says, “Howbeit in ________ do they worship me, teaching for __________________ the commandments of ______. For laying __________ the commandment of ______, ye hold the tradition of ______, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye ____________ the commandment of ______, that ye may keep your own tradition.” 19. Mark 7:13 says, “Making the ________ of God of ________ effect through your __________________, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.”

Note: Notice the downward progression. First, they begin teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. When any work of man is placed on the same level of the Bible like that, then you will see the next step take place. Second, the Bible is laid aside, because favor is given to the commandments of men over the Bible. Once that first step takes place, where anything is allowed to be placed on the same level as the Bible, the Bible will always end up being laid aside, and the work of man exalted above it. Third, the Bible is rejected by those people, because it conflicts with their own doctrines. Fourth, the Bible is made of none effect in the lives of those people, because their own tradition and doctrines now supersede the Bible in their thinking — even though they still maintain that they believe the Bible. This is true of many cults: Muslims, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Catholics, etc. All of them claim to believe the Bible, but have actually placed their own books and/or traditions and/or perverted translations above the true Word of God, the Bible.

#12 – The Quran contradicts the Bible by teaching that Abraham’s father was “Azar,” instead of “Terah.”

Note: The Quran says in Surah 6:74, “Lo! ABRAHAM SAID TO HIS FATHER AZAR…” The Bible repeats over and over that Terah was Abraham’s father — not Azar.

    1. Genesis 11:24-30 says, “And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat __________: And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters. And __________ lived seventy years, and __________ __________, Nahor, and Haran. Now these are the generations of Terah: __________ __________ __________, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. But Sarai was barren; she had no child.”

    2. Genesis 11:31-32 says, “And __________ took __________ his ______, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”

Note: This is not a matter of a name change in Scripture from Terah to Azar. Abram’s name was changed later on to Abraham.

    3. Genesis 17:3-5 says, “And __________ fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy ________ any more be called __________, but thy name shall be ______________; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”

Note: No where in the Bible does it mention any man with the name of Azar, so this is not a case of a name-change for a man. The Quran clearly contradicts the Bible by saying that Abraham’s father was Azar, instead of Terah.

#13 – The Quran contradicts the Bible by saying that Pharaoh’s men performed miracles first, and then Moses and Aaron copied them.

Note: The Quran says in Surah 7:113-117, “So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh… They said: ‘O MOSES! WILT THOU THROW (FIRST), OR SHALL WE HAVE THE (FIRST) THROW?’ SAID MOSES: ‘THROW YE (FIRST).’ So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic. We put it into Moses’s mind by inspiration: ‘THROW (NOW) THY ROD: and behold! It swallows up straightaway all the falsehoods which they take.”

The Bible makes is clear that it was Pharaoh’s men

that were doing the copying — not Moses and Aaron.

    1. Exodus 7:9-12 says, “When ______________ shall speak unto you, saying, ________ a ______________ for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy ______, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall ____________ a ______________. And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the __________________ of Egypt, they also did in ________ ____________ with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.”

Note: God has told us to not imitate the world.

    2. Romans 12:2 says, “And be ______ __________________ to this __________: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

One of the greatest problems of our day is that God’s people

are trying to imitate the world. One of those problem areas is music.

    3. Psalms 96:1 says, “O ________ unto the ________ a ______ song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.”

Note: The contemporary crowd twists that verse to try and make it say that Christians should forsake the sacred hymns and sing new music, rock music, in the churches. That verse is actually teaching the exact opposite. It is calling God’s people to forsake their old worldly music that they played before they were saved, and calling them to now sing a new song to the Lord — sacred music.

    4.   2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in ____________, he is a ______ creature: ______ things are ____________ ________; behold, ______ things are become ______.”

When a person gets saved, rock music needs to pass away — it needs to die.

That person needs to sing a new song to the Lord — sacred music.

    5. Ephesians 5:17-19 says, “Wherefore be ye not ____________, but __________________________ what the ________ of the ________ is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in ____________ and ___________ and __________________ songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

Note: Please see Bible Course BC-E-108, on the subject of Music, for further study.

So the Quran has Moses and Aaron, the men of God, simply following

and imitating the men of the world. That is the exact opposite of what really

took place, and the exact opposite of what God wants His people to do today.

Final Test

When you are finished with this test, please return the entire booklet back to us for grading. When it is graded, this booklet will be returned to you, along with the next booklet. May God richly guide you and give you wisdom from your study of this subject.

    1. The Muslim considers it __________________ to say that Jesus is God Almighty.

    2. In the Quran, Surah 5:17 says, “In _________________ indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary.”

    5. The Muslim considers Jesus to be no more than a messenger or a prophet. The Quran, in Surah 5:75 says, “Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a __________________; many were the messengers that passed away before him.”

    6. The Muslim considers it blasphemy to say that God is a Trinity. The Quran says in Surah 5:73, “They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a _______________.”

    7. 1 John 5:7 says, “For there are __________ that bear record in heaven, the ____________, the ________, and the ________ __________: and these three are ______.”

    8. The Muslim considers it blasphemy to say that Jesus is the Son of God. The Quran says in Surah 6:101, “How can He have a son when he hath no consort?” The word consort means, “A companion; a partner; an intimate associate; a ________ or husband” (Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary). The Bible makes is clear that God does NOT have a wife. That is why the Holy Ghost miraculously came upon the ____________ Mary.

    9. Luke 1:30-35 says, “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy ________, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the ______ of the ______________: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a ______? And the angel answered and said unto her, The ________ __________ shall come upon thee, and the power of the ______________ shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the ______ of ______.”

     10. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a ____________ shall ________________, and ________ a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

    11. The virgin would not just conceive a son, but the virgin would also bear the son. In a regular physical relationship, that would be impossible — the virgin would no longer be a virgin after conception, so a virgin could never be with child. But Mary was still a virgin when she gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ, proving that she had had no ________________ relationship with anyone.

    12. Matthew 1:23 says, “Behold, a ____________ shall be ________ __________, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, ______ with us.”

    13. Matthew 16:16-17 says “…Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the ______ of the living ______. And Jesus answered and said unto him, ______________ art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my ____________ which is in heaven.”

    14. The Quran says that it is blasphemy to say such a thing (that Jesus is the Son of God). The Bible says that it is a truth revealed to people from God the ____________ in heaven. How can people say that the Quran does not contradict the Bible — it clearly does. How can people say that Allah is the God of the Bible — he clearly is not.

    15. The Quran says in Surah 9:31, “And (they take as their Lord) ____________, the son of Mary; Yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (far is he) from having the partners they associate (with Him).”

    16. the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the Son of God — God in the flesh, and is worthy of worship. Matthew 2:1-2 says, “Now when __________ was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to ______________ him.”

    17. Even the demons know that Jesus is the Son of God. Matthew 8:28-29 says, “And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with ____________, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, __________, thou ______ of ______? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”

    18. Even the Jewish leaders clearly understood that Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God. Matthew 26:63-66 says, “But Jesus held his peace. And the high ____________ answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the ______ of ______.

    19. After watching Jesus suffer and die, the centurion also confessed that Jesus is the Son of God. Matthew 27:54 says, “Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the ______ of ______.”

    20. Mark also testified that Jesus is the Son of God. Mark 1:1 says, “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the ______ of ______.”

    21. John the Baptist testified that Jesus is the Son of God. John 1:29-34 says, “The next day John seeth __________ coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. And I saw, and bare record that this is the ______ of ______.”

    22. The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of dealing with thieves. The Quran says in Surah 5:38, “As to the thief, male or female, cut ______ his or her __________: a punishment by way of example, from Allah.”

    23. That is a clear contradiction to what God says to do to a thief. Exodus 22:1-4 says, “If a man shall __________ an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall ______________ five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full ________________________; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall ______________ double…”

    24. God did not instruct His people to cut off the hands of thieves. God commanded for thieves to make ______________________. Restitution means “to make amends, to make good, to restore, to be a peace” (Strong’s Concordance, H-7999). To cut off the thieves’ hands would make it just about impossible for them to obey God and to pay back for their crimes.

    25. The Bible only taught to cut off someone’s limbs, if that is what they had wrongly done to someone else first.

    26. The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of instructing that all unbelievers be killed. The Quran says in Surah 8:12, “I will instill ____________ into the hearts of unbelievers: smite ye above their __________ and smite all their finger tips off them.”

    27. Matthew 5:44 says, “…But I say unto you, ________ your ______________, bless them that curse you, do ________ to them that ________ you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you…”

    28. That passage is sure different from what the Muslim’s teach in the Quran. The Quran says in Surah 9:5, “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and ________ the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of ______)…”

    29. The Quran says in Surah 9:52, “Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things — (__________________ or ______________)?”

    30. Romans 12:19-21 says, “Dearly beloved, avenge ______ yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, __________________ is ________; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with __________.”

    31. The Quran contradicts the Bible in the matter of saying that both the Bible and the Quran are the Word of ______, and then contradicting that. Islam, at first, teaches that the Old Testament and the New Testament are the Word of God, and that the Quran is simply more in the same line (more __________________ given from God).

    32. The problem that Muhammad ran into was that if something is perfectly fine the way it is, then there is no need for something new. If the Old and New Testaments were fine, then why would people need the Quran? So what started out with kindly words about the Old and New Testaments, began to change. Now, Muhammad had to build up the Quran as better than the Bible, to get people to read it. The Quran says in Surah 10:37, “This Quran is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the ________________ of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller ______________________ of the book — wherein there is not __________ — from the lord of the Worlds.”

    33. So Muhammad was clearly trying to get people to have doubts about what the Bible says, and to build up his own book, the Quran, as the only truly authoritative book from God. But from Christians (who really do believe the Bible), Muhammad ran into strong opposition. Proverbs 30:5-6 says, “Every word of ______ is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. ______ thou not unto his __________, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a ________.”

    34. Muhammad talked about the Law (of Moses), which referred to the ______ Testament; and the Gospel (of Jesus), referring to the ______ Testament. These two sections of the Bible do not contradict each other, but are in ______________. The same cannot be said about the Quran and the Bible, because the Quran clearly contradicts many things in the Bible.

    35. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is ________, unto us a son is __________: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The ____________ ______, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

    36. The New Testament does not scoff at such a prophecy, but in perfect harmony with the Old Testament, tells us how that incredible prophecy was indeed fulfilled. But the Quran disagrees with that Old Testament prophecy, and thus scoffs at it. In fact, the Quran calls such a prophecy, blasphemy, that Jesus is God Almighty in the flesh, and One with the Father. The Quran says in Surah 5:72, “They do __________________ who say “Allah is Christ the son of Mary.’ Whoever joins other gods with Allah — Allah will forbid him the Garden, and the ________ will be his abode.”

    37. So the Quran teaches that Jesus was not God, and that He was no better than any of the prophets that lived before Him. That clearly contradicts what the Bible teaches, and that is clearly blasphemy. God the Father is speaking to the Son in Hebrews 1:8, and we read, “But unto the ______ he saith, Thy throne, O ______, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” So God the Father Himself calls the Son, God.

    38. The Quran contradicts the Bible by saying that Pharaoh’s men performed miracles __________, and then Moses and Aaron ____________ them.

    39. So the Quran has Moses and Aaron, the men of God, simply following and __________________ the men of the world. That is the exact ________________ of what really took place, and the exact opposite of what God wants His people to do today.
