Does an unborn baby have a soul?
If man got his soul with the first breath... why does an unborn being that has never breathed a single breath have a soul?
Genesis 2:7 says, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." God directly created a body for Adam out of the dust, but there was no life in it. A baby conceived in the womb is different, because there is life the moment of conception. A baby's heartbeat can be detected between the 18th and 25th day after conception (and that is just when man can detect that it starts). Electrical brain waves have been recorded as early as 43 days after conception (and, once again, that is just when man was able to record them). At 9 to 10 weeks after conception, a baby squints, swallows, moves his tongue, and if you stroke his palm, he will make a fist (all of this in the womb). At 11 to 12 weeks after conception, a baby sucks his thumb vigorously and breathes his amniotic fluid to develop the organs of respiration (done in the womb). All of the body systems are functioning by 12 weeks after conception (all in the womb). The tiny baby is a living being, not a lifeless blob of matter.
The abortion crowd is so hypocritical. Anyone whose heart is beating, and who has brain wave activity is considered by them to "be alive," unless that "living" person happens to be in the womb. The real issue here is immorality. The abortion crowd wants to be immoral with everyone that they please, and if their moment of pleasure happens to produce an unwanted conception, they want the license to kill.
Abortion is polluting and defiling our land, and will cause the destruction of it. Numbers 35:33 says, "So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it."
