Is there
really such a thing as guardian angels?
Is the idea of guardian angels based on scripture?
Matthew 18:10 says, "Take heed that ye despise
not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven THEIR ANGELS do always
behold the face of my Father which is in heaven."
Hebrews
1:13,14 says, "But to which of the ANGELS said he at any time, Sit on my right hand,
until I make thine enemies thy footstool? ARE THEY NOT ALL MINISTERING SPIRITS, SENT FORTH
TO MINISTER FOR THEM WHO SHALL BE HEIRS OF SALVATION?"
Acts
12:13-16 says, "And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to
hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for
gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her,
Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. THEN SAID THEY, IT IS HIS
ANGEL. But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they
were astonished."
Psalm
91:11,12 says, "For HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER THEE, to keep thee in all
thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a
stone."
As you can
see by the above verses, God has placed angels around us to protect us. Revelation 22:8,9
warns us not to worship angels. "And I John saw these things, and heard them. And
when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which
showed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy
fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of
this book: worship God." Angels are servants of God and have a task to do, just like
we are to serve the Lord and do the tasks which He bids us do. Are you doing the
Lords will today?
