Exodus 12:22 says, “And ye shall take a bunch of
hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the
bason, and strike the lintel and the
two side posts with the blood that
is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at
the door of his house until the morning.”
The Bible never says that the blood applied to
the lintel and door posts dripped on the floor
forming a cross.
The Bible clearly says that the blood was
only to be applied to
the the lintel above the door, and to the two
side posts. There is a good reason for this—the
blood is not to be trampled upon, but to be
greatly appreciated and honored. Hebrews 10:29
says, “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye,
shall he be thought worthy, who hath
trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath
counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he
was sanctified, an unholy thing,
and hath done despite unto the Spirit of
grace?”
Because of this, the Jews would have been very
careful to not let any blood drip on the
threshold, where it might be trampled.
