Physically,
Adam was Cain's father. Genesis 4:1 says,
"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have
gotten a man from the LORD."
Spiritually,
Satan was Cain's father. 1 John 3:12 says,
"Not as CAIN, WHO WAS OF THAT WICKED ONE, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he
him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous." John 8:44 says,
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the
father of it."
Adam
and Eve were directly created by God, so Cain was the first person to ever be born. Think of it, the first person to ever be born,
rejected the Lord, and died and went to hell.
