Didn't Moses allow divorce and remarriage? Thanks for taking the time to
read my question. I've noticed in several places you have answered the common questions of
"can I marry this divorced woman" with one scripture, every time. Isn't it true
Moses allowed re-marriage & divorce? I believe some of the reasons this was allowable
was because the husband did not provide for the wife, the divorce was allowable if there
was adultery, and a few other things. Just curious! Thanks.
I
assume that you are referring to Romans 7:2,3, "For the woman which hath an husband
is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she
is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be
married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she
is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another
man." These verses are very clear what Gods will is, that the husband and wife
remain married to each other as long as they are alive upon earth. And if they marry
someone else, then God considers it adultery.
