Exodus 12:5 says, “Your
lamb shall be without blemish, a
male of the first year: ye shall
take it out from
the sheep, or from the goats.”
That is a true and proper statement to make.
Merriam Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary defines
“lamb” as, “a young sheep,
especially, one that is less than one year old or
without permanent teeth; the young of
various animals other than sheep.”
So you can see that even a secular dictionary
acknowledges that various other young animals are
referred to as "lambs."
Psalms 19:7-9 says,
“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the
soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise
the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is
pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD
is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the
LORD are true and righteous altogether.”
