Previous Questions and AnswersDid Jesus ever get married?
There seem to be questions as to whether or not Jesus was married. As far as I know, there are no references indicating that he was. Do you have references to this question?
The Bible is clear that Jesus never got married. It would have been impossible for Jesus to get married, according to the Scripture, because that union would thus have produced another offspring that was "God in the flesh."
Remember what the Jewish leaders said when Jesus claimed to be the Son of God? John 5:18 says, "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, MAKING HIMSELF EQUAL WITH GOD." If Jesus would have had a child, then that child would also have been "equal with God" "God in the flesh."
Seeming God has always existed, and is ONE, there can never be any "new Gods." Isaiah 43:10,11 says, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: BEFORE ME THERE WAS NO GOD FORMED, NEITHER SHALL THERE BE AFTER ME. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." Isaiah 44:6 says, "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and BESIDE ME THERE IS NO GOD."
That only leaves you with one choice that another member of the Godhead, either God the Father, or God the Holy Spirit, would have to take upon themselves flesh, and become Jesus Son. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE AND UNSCRIPTURAL, BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE SON JESUS. John 3:16 says, "For GOD so loved the world, that he gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all one there is only one Son, and there can never be another one. I John 5:7 says, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE."
