Were Satan
and the demons ever saved?
I have read in one of your comments that you cannot
lose your salvation, my question is how did Satan and 1/3 of the Angels lose their
salvation and was put out of heaven?
.
Satan
and his angels were never saved. God created angels and mankind (Adam and Eve) with no
sin. Genesis 1:31, 2:1 says, "And God saw EVERY THING THAT HE HAD MADE, AND, BEHOLD,
IT WAS VERY GOOD. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Thus the heavens and
the earth were finished, and all the host of them."
God created angels and man as "holy." But it was an untested
holiness. When Adam and Eve faced the test, they failed, because they went ahead and
sinned. Genesis 3:6,7 says, "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took
of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did
eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."
Satan and the other angels were also created as "holy."
Ezekiel 28:14,15 gives us some of the background of Satans fall. "Thou art the
anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of
God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. THOU WAST PERFECT IN
THY WAYS FROM THE DAY THAT THOU WAST CREATED, TILL INIQUITY WAS FOUND IN THEE." The
next verse says, "THOU HAST SINNED: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the
mountain of God."
Satan and the angels ministered in Gods very presence. They saw
Him, and yet rejected Him. The greater the position, the greater the responsibility to do
right. They saw God in all of His glory and holiness, and yet rejected Him. God thus did
not provide any means of salvation for the angels. In fact, the angels desire to look into
this matter of salvation that God has provided for mankind. I Peter 1:11,12 says,
"Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did
signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should
follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister
the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you
with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; WHICH THINGS THE ANGELS DESIRE TO LOOK
INTO." The angels are amazed at the great love and sacrifice which Jesus gave that we
might be saved.
What a shame that something so great as salvation amazes angels, but
only brings scoffing from so much of mankind. Have you received the greatest gift
the gift of salvation? Hebrews 2:2,3 says, "For if the word spoken by angels was
stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE, IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION; which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him."
