What is the time when Satan is kicked out of heaven?

q.gif (1639 bytes)     When was Satan and his angels kicked out of Heaven? Was it during Adam and Eve's  time or was it at the end time indicated in Revelation?   I know he visited heaven during Job's time.  Had he been kicked out at that time?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   When Satan sinned, he was removed from his high and holy position of being a cherub in the presence of God. In Ezekiel 28:12-17, we find a lamentation directed toward the king of Tyrus. The language goes beyond a human, and tells us of the wicked one that was behind that king, giving him his power. “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.”

We see what cherubims do in Ezekiel chapters 1 and 10. Chapter 1 describes the appearance of cherubims, but Ezekiel does not know at what he is looking (that is, to give it a name), so he refers to them as “creatures.” But in chapter 10:14,15, Ezekiel now tells us, “And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. And the cherubims were lifted up. THIS IS THE LIVING CREATURE THAT I SAW BY THE RIVER OF CHEBAR.” The cherubims are like a living chariot transporting the throne of God. Ezekiel 1:26-28 says, “And above the firmament that was OVER THEIR HEADS WAS THE LIKENESS OF A THRONE, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.”

When Satan sinned, he was removed from that lofty position of being continually in the presence of God’s throne, because we see him now going to and fro between heaven and earth. Job 1:6,7 says, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Satan could come before the Lord, but he was no longer continually around His throne. And of course, during Job’s time we see what Satan now does, since he was removed from his high and lofty position. Job 1:8-11 says, “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.”

Satan now spends his time accusing God’s children, and that is what he will be doing until the mid-point of the Tribulation Period, when he is then barred from entering the heavenly realm at all. Revelation 12:7-12 says, “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; NEITHER WAS THEIR PLACE FOUND ANY MORE IN HEAVEN. AND THE GREAT DRAGON WAS CAST OUT, THAT OLD SERPENT, CALLED THE DEVIL, AND SATAN, which deceiveth the whole world: HE WAS CAST OUT INTO THE EARTH, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: FOR THE ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN IS CAST DOWN, WHICH ACCUSED THEM BEFORE OUR GOD DAY AND NIGHT. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. WOE TO THE INHABITERS OF THE EARTH AND OF THE SEA! FOR THE DEVIL IS COME DOWN UNTO YOU, HAVING GREAT WRATH, BECAUSE HE KNOWETH THAT HE HATH BUT A SHORT TIME.”

That is at the mid-point of the Tribulation Period, when the antichrist suddenly breaks the covenant, and sets himself up as “God” in the temple. Now you know why he does that. It is because the power behind him, Satan, knows that he only has a short time (3 1/2 years), and he is going to make life as miserable as possible for those who will not bow the knee to him and take his mark.

So for a quick review, Satan started out in the exalted position of a cherub, that was continually around the throne of God. Then, when Satan sinned, he was removed from that exalted position, but still had access to come before the throne of God along with the other angels (it seems that there are set times when the angels come before God to report on what they have been doing). Satan will still have access to do that until the mid-point of the Tribulation Period, at which time there will be a war in heaven, and Satan and his angels (what we call demons), will be cast out of the heavenly realm. At that point, Satan will be allowed only upon the earth, and he will literally try to make life a terror for those who live upon the earth.
