If there is

If there is a God, why would he let good people suffer and die as
they do?
Please see the following question: "http://www.pathwaynet.com/libertyb/question/prequest/disease.htm".
God created man and woman to live forever, but they sinned. Genesis 2:16,17 says,
"And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest
freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
for IN THE DAY THAT THOU EATEST THEREOF THOU SHALT SURELY DIE." Romans 5:12 says,
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death
passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
Sin is the
cause of all suffering in this world. Romans 8:22 says, "For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." That is not God's
fault, but man's. God did not make us as robots with no will of our own. He made us with
the power to make decisions -- either right or wrong ones. Sadly, many times man forsakes
what God says, and thus goes his own way. When we sin, we experience the consequences of
sin. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
I would
encourage you to repent of your sin, and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. Acts 3:19
says, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when
the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Romans 10:9-11
says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."
For those
who will repent and receive the Lord Jesus Christ, there awaits a world of no sin and
resulting sickness. Revelation 21:3-5 says, "And I heard a great voice out of heaven
saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and
they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed
away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said
unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."
That is
the place that God has prepared for those who will turn from sin to Him. God is good. God
does love all of mankind, that is why He allowed His Son to suffer and die for our sins,
that we might live with Him for ever. John 3:16-19 says, "For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but
he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of
the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
