If you think the wrong things, but do not act upon them, are you still sinning?

q.gif (1639 bytes)    I know that homosexuality is a sin but some people say that only if you practice homosexuality then it is a sin and some say that homosexual feelings are also a sin. who is correct? If I get a bad thought in my mind but then I read the Holy book and the thought goes away and I do not act upon the thought, and I do this forever, will I still be living in sin?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   Isaiah 55:7-9 says, “Let the WICKED forsake his WAY, and the UNRIGHTEOUS man his THOUGHTS: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

The Bible says that a person who is going the wrong way (doing the wrong things) is “wicked.” It then says that a person who is thinking the wrong thoughts is “unrighteous.” I John 5:17 says, “All unrighteousness is sin.” So whether a person is “doing” the wrong things, or “thinking” the wrong things — both is committing sin, and that person needs to repent of it.
