Corvette, All-American Idol
According to the experts, the Corvette is the most collected car in the USA. (cnn.com/2014/04/26/travel/corvette-museum-sinkhole-update/index.html).
Introduced as a show car in 1953, the Corvette was like a dream car out of the future. Only 300 Corvettes were made that first year—all hand-built—all painted white—and all convertibles. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette)
Corvette: It’s Fast
In 1953, it was advertised as able to go 0-60 mph in 11.5 seconds; in 1955, as 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds; and by 2006, 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette)
Corvette: It’s Worshipped
Because of its beauty and speed, the Corvette is idolized by thousands of people. The word idol means, “an object of worship or extreme devotion.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary) If there has ever been a car that has been worshipped, it is the Corvette! It is waxed, polished, photographed, and carefully stored. Corvette Clubs have formed around the country out of admiration and devotion to it.
Corvette: Disaster Strikes
On February 1, 2014, at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at 5:40 AM, security cameras showed the floor of the Sky Dome Room collapse down into a sinkhole 40 feet wide and 60 feet deep—swallowing down 8 prize Corvettes with it.
Corvette: Mirror Of Your Future?
Like with those Corvettes, your looks, physical shape, popularity, and net worth is not going to help you when you die. “And as it is appointed unto men ONCE TO DIE, but after this the JUDGMENT” (Holy Bible, Hebrews 9:27). “He that believeth not is CONDEMNED ALREADY...” (Holy Bible, John 3:18)

Corvette: Your Church?
Do you worship the Corvette (or whatever car or truck you own)? Or with you, is it your house? Or are you consumed in life with your cell phone or iPad taking part in social media, texting, or just surfing? Or with you is it hunting, fishing, golfing, or watching sports that is your life? Does God have any part of your life?
Corvettes: Ruined Forever
At first, General Motors promised to fully restore the 8 Corvettes, but then officials decided to meet with the museum’s staff “to discuss the possibility of leaving one or more of the sunken cars in their DAMAGED STATE to FOREVER serve as a reminder of that unfortunate morning in Corvette history.” (www.torquenews.com/106/gm-corvette-museum) So much for man’s promises! They decided to fix only 3 of the 8 cars.
How about you? Will you end up like the majority of those Corvettes—suffering ruin for all of eternity? “Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 25:41b) Is that where you want to spend eternity?

Corvette: Wake-Up Call
God is giving you the chance to repent and be saved, before you are swallowed down into hell like those Corvettes. “REPENT ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Holy Bible, Acts 3:19a)
Is YOUR LIFE A WRECK from drugs, alcohol, or immorality? Jesus’ power can deliver you from your wretched state. “But as many as received him, TO THEM GAVE HE POWER to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE ON HIS NAME.” (Holy Bible, John 1:12) “CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day.” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4) “That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9)
