What is the view of God in the Old Testament?

q.gif (1639 bytes)   What is the view of God in the prophetic books and wisdom writing?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   A sample from the prophet Isaiah will clearly show the answer. Isaiah 43:10,11 says, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour."

The view of God is that there is one true and living God, and that there has never, and will never be any other God. It also points out very clearly that the Savior is God; thus, Jesus Christ is Almighty God — not a lesser "god" of sorts. That is why the Bible prophesied of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 1:23, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US."

Have you received the Lord Jesus Christ (God in the flesh, John 1:14) as your personal Savior?
