Description
#1—Are you willing to affirm the fact that God is the Creator of heaven and earth; and because of that, you must answer
to Him one day?
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12)
#2—Are you willing to admit that you have personally sinned (sometimes doing wrong things, and other times not doing good things that you should have)?
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17)
#3—Do you realize that the penalty for your sin is death; and that if you die with your sin unforgiven, it will send you to the lake of fire for ever and ever?
“For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23a) “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Revelation 20:14) “Suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” (Jude 7b)
#4—Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ is God Almighty in the flesh, born of a miraculous virgin birth; thus, with no sin nature like we have?
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23) “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:35b)
#5—Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ paid the death penalty for you when He
died on the cross?
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.” (1 Peter 2:24a)
#6—Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can
be saved, and not through any good works of your own?
“The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7b) “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.” (Titus 3:5a)
#7—Do you realize that after the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, He then arose from the grave, proving that His sacrifice paid the death penalty for all of the sins of the whole world?
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
#8—Do you realize that to be saved, you must repent of your sin (you must have the desire
to turn from your sinful life and your false beliefs, and have the desire for the Lord Jesus Christ to give you a new life
serving Him)?
Jesus said, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19a) “Repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.” (Acts 26:20b)
#9—Do you realize that after you get saved, God’s first command for you is to publicly acknowledge Him by getting baptized under the water,
and to then live for Him?
“Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 28:19b) “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)
#11—Do you realize that when you ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, you can never lose that salvation, because it is based upon His pure, righteous, sinless blood—not upon your good works? If you sin, He will not forsake you, but will discipline you, like a parent does his child.
“Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” (Hebrews 12:6)
#11—Do you realize that you are only one heartbeat away from heaven or hell, and that you have no guarantee of another day to make this decision?
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:14) “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2b)
To be saved, you must call upon the Lord Jesus Christ from your heart. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” “For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the LORD shall be SAVED” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV).
Yes, I just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me and to save me, and I do want to walk in that newness of life now.
