What Would You Choose?

“A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. ” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 10:19, KJV)   People that are rich, are used to their money “answering all things;” that is, meeting all of their needs.

The Book of Ecclesiastes is the testimony of Solomon, when he played the fool, in thinking that he had to “try  everything for himself” to see if it was good or bad.

“And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 1:17, KJV) “I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 2:1, KJV)  “I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 2:3, KJV)

What was the result?  “And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.  Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 2:10-11, KJV)

If you were wealthy, and on a cruise ship with many other wealthy people, and the ship ran into trouble and started to sink, what would you do when the call was made to man the life boats?  Would you run to the ship’s vault, and get your million dollars out, before you got on the life boat?  Or would you run to the Dining Hall, and ask for a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a bottle of water?  If you chose to retrieve your money from the ship’s vault, then you would find a very long line of other people with the same thought.  But if you chose to run to the Dining Hall, you would probably be the first and only person in line.

So you get on the life boat, and find out that everyone else on board had gone to the ship’s vault, and retreived their million dollars.  Then the talk starts on the life boat about you.  “Look at that crazy guy!  Instead of going to withdraw his million dollars from the vault, he went to the Dining Hall and got a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a bottle of water!  Can you believe what a fool he was?  He lost his million dollars when the ship sunk!”

But there was a problem when the ship sunk.  The Captain was unable to send out a distress signal.  No one in the world knows that your ship has sunk.  High winds send your life boat far off course from any shipping lanes.  Many days elapse, and people are getting very hungry and thirsty.  Everyone on board has a million dollars, but no one has food and drink, except you.

Some people start passing out from dehydration and lack of food, and fall out of the life boat, and perish.  They sink with their million dollars.  Other people start offering you a million dollars for your food and water, but you refuse, because you know that you will then die from lack of food and water.

One by one, the people die.  Some are clutching their million dollars right up to death.  But at death, their grip releases on their money, and it falls to the floor of the life boat.  Finally, you are the only one left alive, and then a rescue plane spots your lifeboat, and you are saved.

Everyone laughed at you for choosing a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a bottle of water, instead of a million dollars, but you were actually the wise one.  Your loaf of bread, and peanut butter, and bottle of water was worth more than 30 million dollars, which was the amount of money that perished in the hands of those around you.

What are you grabbing along the way in life?  As much money as you can?  That is going to all be worthless in your future, because you are going to one day die.  “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;  None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:  (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)” (Holy Bible, Psalm 49:6-8, KJV)

What you would be wise to choose is the “Bread of Life,” the Lord Jesus Christ.  “For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (Holy Bible, John 6:33-35, KJV)

Jesus is also the “Living Water.”  “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” (Holy Bible, John 4:10, KJV)   “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (Holy Bible, John 4:13-14, KJV)

Bow your head and heart to Almighty God, and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior right now.

Feeling Little & Forgotten?

“He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 115:13, KJV)    Does that verse bring comfort and joy to your heart?

Do you feel small and unimportant?  Are you are not first at school?  Are you are not first at work?  Do you not seem to be first at home?  Are you just plain tired of competition?

Is there ever going to be a reward for those who are not first?  Will there ever be a reward for those who have a servant’s heart, and never get in the limelight?  Yes, there is going to be a reward.  “But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 19:30, KJV)
Consider what God said about Israel. “The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people.” (Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 7:7, KJV)

When God was searching for a replacement for Elijah, He did not choose one from the sons of the prophets (they thought they were the spiritual ones, as was later seen with their attitudes toward the one that God did choose).  No, God did not choose any of those young men.  God was looking for a humble man with a servant’s heart.  He found that one, still at home, plowing and working for his father.

“So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.  And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?  And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.” (Holy Bible, 1 Kings 19:19-21, KJV)

You do not have to be where the “action is” to be found of God.  He knows exactly where you are.  He also knows your heart.  Is your heart right with Him?  That is what He is searching for in a person.  “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. (Holy Bible, 2 Chronicles 16:9a, KJV)

First, Or Forgotten?

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 6:33, KJV)

Is God really first in our lives, or is He forgotten?  “Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.” (Holy Bible, Jeremiah 2:32, KJV)

Are we too tired from staying up too late the previous evening, so we hit the snooze button on the alarm clock several times in the morning?  Then do we jump out of bed, get dressed, jump in the car with our breakfast in our hands?  Do we weave in and out of traffic, rushing to work so we will not be late?  Is our only prayer that morning that God would get that crazy slow driver out of our way so that we are not late to work?

Daniel is a good example of a man who put God first.  “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” (Holy Bible, Daniel 6:10, KJV)

David did the same thing. “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 55:17, KJV)

Is God really first in our lives?  Or is He forgotten?

Shocking Revelation Of USA Senators With Dual Citizenship With Egypt?

Forty-four United States Senators recently voted against a bill that would have outlawed withholding medical care from a baby that was born alive (including a baby that was being aborted, but managed to survive outside of the womb). (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/02/25/senate-dems-fail-alive-abortions-infanticide/) So they were in favor of letting a newborn baby die, if that was the desire of the parents.

On the day of this vote, did these 44 United States Senators reveal their secret dual-citizenship with Egypt?   “And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:  And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.  And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:  And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 1:13-16, KJV)

Thankfully, the midwives had more integrity than many of our United States Senators.  “But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.  And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?  And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.  Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.  And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 1:17-21, KJV)

May God have mercy upon us, as many of our leaders no longer fear God and His Word.  “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (Holy Bible, 2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV)

Where is your citizenship, my friend?   Is your eternal home heaven, or hell?  “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. (Holy Bible, Hebrews 11:16, KJV)  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9-11, KJV)

New York, Abortion & Amazon

“Calling it a ‘victory for all New Yorkers,’ Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a law to codify a woman’s right to abortion under state law and provide greater access to abortion across the state on Tuesday evening, Jan. 22.”

New York’s previous law allowed abortions after 24 weeks if a woman’s “life” was at risk, but now it is deemed okay if the woman’s “health” is endangered. (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-york-passes-abortion-bill-late-term-if-mothers-health-is-at-risk-today-2019-01-23/)  What is the difference in the laws?  “The intentional ambiguity of that last part allows for the destruction of the baby at any point during pregnancy should the doctor deem the mother’s wellbeing is at risk—physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age.”  (www.faithwire.com/ /2019/01/23/new-york-senate-erupts-in-applause-after-passing-horrific-late-term-abortion-bill/)

The New York legislators gave themselves a standing ovation after passing the bill.  Twenty-three days later, there was much weeping in New York.  Why?  Consider this Scripture.  Proverbs 11:1-3 says, “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.  The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.”

Twenty-three days after the signing of that abortion bill, Amazon pulled out of their agreement to build a new headqurters in New York City.  The decision was staggering, meaning the loss of 25,000+ jobs for New York, and billions of dollars of revenue. (https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-metro-amazon-cancels-new-york-20190214-story.html)

The sad spiritual state of New York was already in the depths before this abortion bill was signed.  The New York Department of Health records show that between the years 2012 and 2014, there were 285,127 abortions performed in New YorkThat is over 260 babies being murdered every day in New YorkDuring those same years, there were only 237,499 live births.  (https://www.faithwire.com/2019/01/23/new-york-senate-erupts-in-applause-after-passing-horrific-late-term-abortion-bill/)
That means that they murdered 47,628 more babies in New York than were born alive in those three years!  We are witnessing a modern day holocaust, and who even seems to care?

Remember what the Bible says in Galatians 6:7-8?  “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

So the State of New York has no problem with murdering more babies a year than are even born?  Well, guess what they are reaping?  Murder rates went up 55% in New York City from January 1st, to February 17th, 2019, in comparison to the same time frame last year.  (www.foxnews.com/us/murder-rate-rises-55-in-new-york-city)  Adults voted to murder babies, and now the adults are being murdered at a higher rate.  God’s Word is true, you reap what you sow.

Why go on in your sin and rebellion against God?  You face a horrible judgment.  The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”

Come to the Lord Jesus Christ today in repentance and faith.

The Largest Employer In The World

Amazon?  Good guess, but the answer is, “No.”

McDonald’s?  Close.  They are ranked #4, with 1.9 million employees.

Walmart?  You are closer.  They are ranked #3, with 2.3 million employees.

United States Defense Department?  You are very close.  They are ranked #1, with 2.86 million employees.  Wait a minute.  You said, “very close?”  How about “right on” if they are ranked #1!  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_employers)

Sorry, but their ranking is off.  There is one employer that is much larger than the Defense Department.  There is a very good chance that you, yourself, also labor for this one.

Here is a clue: “As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.  And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 5:15-16, KJV)  Are you laboring for the wind in your life?  That is, are you laboring for material possessions, all of which are going to be left behind when you die?  “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” (Holy Bible, Luke 12:15, KJV)   Every material thing that you are working for on this earth, it is all going to be left behind when you die.  Have you been laboring for the wind?

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (Holy Bible, 1 Timothy 6:6-7, KJV)

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 6:19-21, KJV)

Who is your employer?  “Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;  With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.” (Holy Bible, Ephesians 6:6-7, KJV)

Do you personally know your Creator?  “Prepare to meet thy God.” (Holy Bible, Amos 4:12, KJV)  “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Holy Bible, Titus 2:13, KJV)
