Do you teach the Bible, or your opinion?

Question:

Do you really believe and teach “Bible only”, or, do you believe and teach someone’s opinion; that is, what you have been taught?

Answer:

Isaiah 8:20 says, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Proverbs 19:21 says, “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” Proverbs 21:30 says, “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.” Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

As we can see by the above verses, our opinion does not really amount to much. It is God’s wisdom that we need, and that we try our best to seek. I suppose that we are all guilty at times of expressing our opinion, instead of God’s wisdom, but I encourage people to check out in the Bible what we say. That is the mark of a noble Christian. Acts 17:11 says, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
