Is there a contradiction between the accounts of creation in Genesis chapter one and chapter two?

Question:

It was pointed out to me that Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 have different accounts of the creation (the order anyways). If the Bible is infallible, how is this possible?

Answer:

Genesis chapter 1 records what God made on the specific days of the week. DAY 1 (vss. 1-5) — the heaven and the earth; light; and day and night. DAY 2 (vss. 6-8) — the firmament or Heaven. DAY 3 (vss. 9-13) — dry land and seas; grass; herbs; and fruit trees. DAY 4 (vss. 14-19) — sun; moon; and stars. DAY 5 (vss. 20-23) — fish and fowl. DAY 6 (vss. 24-31) — land animals and man. Chapter 2 begins with Day 7 (vss. 1-3), and God resting.Continue reading

Do we know the exact age of Adam and Eve when they were created?

Question:

Do we know the exact physical age of Adam and Eve when they were created?

Answer:

Adam and Eve’s exact physical age at their creation would technically be zero, because their ages are calculated from their creation, but God obviously created them at a certain AGE LEVEL, or as it is often called, with APPARENT AGE. The Bible does not tell us at what age level God created Adam and Eve. Once Adam was created, we do know that he lived to be 930 years old. Genesis 5:5 says, “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.”Continue reading

Did God rest for a “day,” or for an “age?”

Question:

My short and simple question is, can you tell me, as simply, as concisely, and as scripturally as you possibly can, how God is resting in the seventh day, when it is believed that we are still living in the sixth day of creation, of which God is a great part of? I’m speaking of course of Genesis 2:1-3, with Genesis 2:4 to Rev. 22:21 being the detailed version of the sixth day.Continue reading

Disagreement to “How long has man been here?” and “Was man really created in the image of God?”

Question:

There is another reason why I think Genesis 2:7 happened 1st, before man was made into the image and likeness of God as we see in Genesis 1:26-28. And because of this reason, I believe your statement which follows is in error, “When God first created man, alone, he was made in the image of God.  Man did not need a wife to be made in the image of God, because God is three in one — not two as one.”Continue reading

How long has man been here?

Question:

Do you believe that Genesis 1:26-28, happened at the same time as Genesis 2:7? I believe Genesis 2:7, happened first. Man became a living soul, and was already in existence before Genesis 1:26-28 happened, when God decided to make Man in His image and likeness. Here`s why. Man being made into the image and likeness of God involved the woman. Without the woman, Man was not made into God`s image and likeness. As we know, the man was in existence before the woman. Mankind may have been in existence in the image and likeness of God for about 6000 years, however Man was in existence before this time.Continue reading

From where did the giants come?

Question:

A friend and I were talking the other night about the Bible in Genesis where it talks about the giants in the earth. Well the question came up if the earth was flooded and killed all the people except Noah and his family where did the men like Goliath and Gad and the giants that were seen by the Israelites in the promised land come from?Continue reading

Was the world created in six literal days?

Question:

Was the world created in 6 days or 6 eras? In the original Jewish Bible it uses the word “yaster” which means either day OR era. So isn’t it possible that the world was actually created in 6 eras? It would make much more sense considering many scientists classify the Earth to be much older. So isn’t the world created in 6 eras rather than 6 days?Continue reading

How was their light upon earth before the sun was created?

Question:

In the creation of earth, it says that there was light on the first day.  How was there light if the sun did not exist until the 4th day?

Answer:

God commanded there to be LIGHT on the FIRST DAY — and there was LIGHT.  Genesis 1:1-5 says, “1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”Continue reading
