Does the Book of Hebrews teach “eternal security?”

Question:

I am doing a paper on the believer’s eternal security. The main topic of my paper has to do with Heb. 6:11-20 dealing with God’s promise to us the heirs of God’s promise to Abraham. If you have time I would appreciate anything that I could use as a quote, or if not, any ideas would be great.Continue reading

Why did Jesus have to suffer, die, and shed His blood that we might be saved?

Question:

Hi, I’m teaching a group of singles in about 3 weeks on the concept of “Why Christ had to die?” part of this is to explain why death and blood and suffering specifically were required by God? I.e. one can understand death, for that would be what he died to save us from (i.e. spiritual death). But I would like some input on why blood and suffering were so key. Needless to say the OT talks about both, and they were symbolic of what was to come, but why were they required in the first place? Any insight would be excellent.  Thanks.Continue reading

Does God “choose” people to go to hell?

Question:

It says in the Bible that God choose us — not we chose him.  But it also says to CHOOSE God as your Lord and Savior.  It also says God does not send people to hell — we send ourselves there. But how can we send ourselves there when God chooses us.  That means that God has not chosen every one in hell.  This is not fair.  How can we choose Him when he chooses us?  This means that He has sent millions to hell just becuase He did not choose them, and for all you know, how do you know that he has chosen YOU!!!!!Continue reading

Can The “Others” Become Christians?

Question:

At a summer retreat this year I got into a discussion about how God knew us before we were born, and that he picked out those who would be Christians before they were born. But that doesn’t make sense to me because if God loved the world so much, why would he pick out only a select few to be Christians, and does that mean that those he didn’t pick aren’t ever going to get the chance to be Christians and go to heaven?Continue reading
