Question:
Do you know of a book called the Book of Abraham in regard to astronomy signs?
Answer:
The only book called the Book of Abraham of which I have heard is from the Mormons, and it was a work supposedly translated by Joseph Smith, their founder/leader.
There is no point in arguing about this writing, or any of his writings, except for the point that he did NOT teach that Jesus Christ is God Almighty in the flesh; but, rather, a “god,” the highest creation of the Almighty God. In this regard, the Mormons are no different that the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
First of all, Jesus is called the Almighty God. Isaiah 9:6,7 says, “For unto us A CHILD is born, unto us A SON is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” Revelation 1:7,8 says, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY.”
Jesus is NOT God’s greatest creation, because Jesus is God, and has always existed. Micah 5:2 says, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; WHOSE GOINGS FORTH HAVE BEEN FROM OF OLD, FROM EVERLASTING.” Jesus was not created at a point in time. He has existed from everlasting, because He is God.
Isaiah 43:10,11 says, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: BEFORE ME THERE WAS NO GOD FORMED, NEITHER SHALL THERE BE AFTER ME. I, EVEN I, AM THE LORD, AND BESIDE ME THERE IS NO SAVIOR.” No God was formed before or after the true and living God. That true and living God is the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
