Which of the twelve apostles were married?

Question:

Of the twelve disciples (the Apostles) which ones were married? I am also seeking any information about their wives (names or other comments). Scriptural passages please.  Thank You for this assistance.

Answer:

We know that Peter was married. First, because he had a mother-in-law. Mark 1:29-31 says, “And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.” Second, because Paul refers to Peter being married in I Corinthians 9:3-6 says, “Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, Have we not power to eat and to drink? Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?”

That passage also refers to the brethren of the Lord being married, which would include James and Jude. Matthew 13:55 says, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, JAMES, and Joses, and Simon, and JUDAS”?

That passage also says, “as well as other apostles,” but it does not name which ones. So we know that Peter, James, Jude, and other apostles were married.
