Why is God not answering my prayers?

Question:

I pray at night, but He never helps me with my problems.

Answer:

The first question is “Are you saved?” If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have no basis upon which to pray and get your prayers answered. Hebrews 4:14-16 says, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”

The second question is, “Are you saved, but have unconfessed sin in your life?” Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” You need to make sure that there is nothing between you and the Lord that would hinder your prayers.

The third thing that you need to do is print off the Prayer List on this Web Site, or simply request a copy, and we will send you one. That gives a wealth of Scriptures dealing with prayer, and will help you to pray according to the Bible.
