Chapter 1

 

Welcome to Book 7 in the Practical Christian Living series of the Liberty Bible Course. This booklet deals with the Christian’s armor. This study is written to be used with the King James version of the Bible, otherwise your answers are going to be incorrect. Please get your Bible, and begin another exciting study in God’s Word, that just might change your life!

Note:   When we repent of our sins and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we have three instant enemies — the world, the flesh, and the devil. Do not take these three enemies lightly, because they are all very powerful.

    1.   1 Corinthians 10:12 says, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he ________________ take heed lest he ________.”

Note:   In the strength of our own flesh, we are no match for these enemies. That is why we need some armor.

    2. Matthew 26:41 says, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into ____________________: the spirit indeed is ______________, but the flesh is ________.”
3. Romans 7:18 says, “For I know that in me (that is, in my __________,) dwelleth ____ good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”
4. Romans 7:21 says, “I find then a law, that, when I would do good, ________ is present with me.”

 

As long as you are alive, you are going to face this battle -— age does not remove it.

 

    5. Genesis 17:1 shows us the truth of this. Notice Abram’s age when God tells him to stay in the battle and keep doing the right thing. “And when Abram was ____________ years old and ________, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou ______________.”
6.   1 John 2:15-17 says, “Love not the __________, neither the ____________ that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the __________, and the lust of the ________, and the pride of ________, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

Note:   The young person in school feels the pressure to conform to the other students. The man at work feels pressured to conform to the workers around him. The woman at home feels pressured to conform to the ladies around her. No matter what age you are, you cannot escape this pressure to conform.

    7. Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walketh with wise men shall be ________: but a companion of fools shall be __________________.”
8. Proverbs 1:10 says, “My son, if sinners ____________ thee, consent thou ______.”
9. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not __________________ to this world: but be ye _______________________ by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

 

That verse is talking about reading God’s Word, the Bible.

You will need to read and mediate in it every day, because you have a constant enemy.

    10.   1 Peter 5:8, 9 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the __________, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may ____________. Whom resist stedfast in the __________, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
11.  Romans 10:17 tells us where to get that faith to resist the devil. “So then __________ cometh by hearing, and hearing by the ________ of God.”

Note:   The only place to get faith, is from reading or hearing God’s Word, the Bible.

 

I. Be Strong In The Lord.

 

A. By living in Him.

    1. Please read Ephesians 6:10-18. Verse 10 says, “Finally, my brethren, be ____________ in the ________, and in the power of his might.”

 

There is no way to have the power to live for God, if you are still spiritually dead; that is, if you are not saved.

    2. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are ____ Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
3. John 1:12, 13 says, “But as many as ________________ him, to them gave he __________ to become the sons of God, even to them that ______________ on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Note:   We must be brought to life, because we are born spiritually dead.

    4. Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you hath he quickened, who were ________ in trespasses and ________.”
5. Jesus said in John 3:3, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be ________   __________, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
6. Nicodemus did not understand what that meant. Verse 4 of that same chapter says, “Nicodemus saith unto him, ______ can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the ____________ time into his mother’s ________, and be born?”
7. Jesus answered that in verses 5-7 of that same chapter. “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is __________; and that which is born of the Spirit is ____________. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

Note:   To be living in Christ, you must repent of your sin and place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in Him alone, to save you.

    8. John 11:25, 26 says, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that __________________ in me, though he were dead, yet shall he ________: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
9. Acts 3:19 says, “____________ ye therefore, and be __________________, that your ________ may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

 

Repentance is not you trying to clean up your own life — that is self-reformation,

and that is doomed to fail. It is only the pure blood of the Lord Jesus Christ

that can cleanse you from all of your sin. True repentance causes you

to turn from your sin to Him, and Him alone, to save you.

   10.    2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be ____ Christ, he is a ______ creature: old things are passed ________; behold, all things are become ______.”

Note:    Remember John 1:12, “But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he POWER to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

— Be Strong In The Lord.

B. By learning of Him.

    1. Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and __________ of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find ________ unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Note:   How or where do you learn about God?

    2.   1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “But as it is written, ______ hath not seen, nor ______ heard, neither have entered into the __________ of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Note:   To learn about God, we cannot just sit and daydream. The Bible tells us that we could never imagine how wonderful the things are which God has prepared for us. We learn about God as we read His Word, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit then gives us understanding of it.

    3. Verses 10-13 of that same chapter say, “But God hath ________________ them unto us by his ____________: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might ________ the things that are freely __________ to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost ________________; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
4.   2 Timothy 3:14, 15 says, “But continue thou in the things which thou hast ______________ and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy ____________________, which are able to make thee ________ unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
5. Verses 16 and 17 of that same passage go on to say, “All __________________ is given by inspiration of God, and is ____________________ for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Note:   As you read the Bible, you will learn that your true strength is in Jesus, and never in your self.

    6. Matthew 28:18-20 says, “And __________ came and spake unto them, saying, All __________ is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, __ am ________ you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Note:   When God asked Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, Moses felt unable to handle such a task. Notice carefully what God said to him.

    7. Exodus 3:10-12 says, “Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And __________ said unto God, ______ am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly __ will be ________ thee.”

 

Notice that God said nothing about Moses’ low self esteem. God also did not brag on Moses to puff him up

with positive thinking. God simply reminded Moses that He (God) was with him, and that is all that was needed.

REVIEW:

Chapter 2

 

II. Be Strapped Into Your Armor.

 

Note:   Armor will do you no good, unless you have it on.

A. Be fully prepared.

    1.   2 Timothy 2:3 says, “Thou therefore endure ________________, as a good ______________ of Jesus Christ.”
2.  Verse 4 of that same chapter says, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may ____________ him who hath chosen him to be a ______________.”

Note:   When you get saved, then you are in the Lord’s Army. When you are a soldier, then you need armor to protect you from the enemy.

    3. Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the __________ armour of God, that ye may be able to __________ against the wiles of the devil.”

Note:   We are warned here to put on the whole armor of God. That is important, because enemies look for weak points in the armor.

   4.   1 Samuel 17:48, 49 says, “And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a __________, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his ________________, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.”

Note:   David found a weak point in Goliath’s armor — his face. Of course Goliath was wicked and deserved to die, but this example shows the danger of having a weak spot in the armor.

    5. Hebrews 12: 1, 2 says, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the ______ which doth so ____________ beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

 

Different people have different strengths and weaknesses.

We fight a very evil foe, the devil, who tries to strike at those weak spots.

 

    6. Once again, Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the __________ of the devil.”

Note:   The word wiles means, “tricks intended to ensnare or deceive; skill in outwitting.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)

    7.   1 Corinthians 10:12 says, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he ________________ take heed lest he ________.”
8.   1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the __________, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may ____________.”

Note:   In the Christian life there is no room for pride. The fact is that we face a very cunning foe, who has a great deal of skill in outwitting people and deceiving them. You need to be strapped into your armor and fully prepared.

 

 

B. Be politically prepared.

    1. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle ______ against __________ and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the ____________ of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in ________ places.”

 

The Bible warns us that Satan is always working, and trying to

control people in high places.  What can we do about that?

 

    2.   1 Timothy 2:1, 2 says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, ______________, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For __________, and for all that are in __________________; that we may lead a quiet and __________________ life in all godliness and honesty.”
3.   2 Thessalonians 3:1, 2 says, “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the ________ of the Lord may have ________ course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from ________________________ and wicked men: for all men have not __________.”

Note:    Mordecai was one who faced wickedness in high places.

    4. Esther 3:5, 6 says, “And when __________ saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath. And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had showed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to ______________ all the ________ that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.”

Note:    Daniel also faced persecution from those in high places; even though he, himself, was also a high official.

    5. Daniel 6:5-7 says, “Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the ______ of his God. Then these ____________________ and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a ________________ of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of __________.”

 

This reminds us that we need to pray much for Christians who hold high positions,

because there is an evil foe who would like to destroy them.

C. Be continually prepared.

    1. Ephesians 6:13 says, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to __________________ in the evil day, and having done all, to __________.”

Note:   The question is not if the evil day will come, but when? And when it does, will we be found standing?

    2. Matthew 26:41 says, “Watch and ________, that ye enter ______ into ____________________: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is __________.”
3. I Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye ________________, unmoveable, always __________________ in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is ______ in ________ in the Lord.”

REVIEW:
1. Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the __________ armour of God, that ye may be able to __________ against the wiles of the devil.”

Chapter 3

 

III. Be Sound In The Knowledge Of Your Protection.

 

A. Protection for your loins.

    1. Ephesians 6:14 says, “Stand therefore, having your __________ girt about with ____________…”

Note:   What are the loins? The word loins is defined as “the upper and lower abdominal regions, and the region about the hips.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary) This is the part of the body that needs protection from lust.

 

It is no wonder that protection for the loins is listed as the first piece of armor that should be put into place.

 

Note:   Much of the music that you hear in the store, and many of the pictures that you see there are geared for lust.
The way that people dress (or should it be said, undressed?) for formal, casual, or sporting events is geared toward lust.

 

Notice that the armor to protect you from this temptation is truth.  It is truth that helps

you see beyond the emotional enticements, to the destruction that awaits beyond.

 

— Please read Proverbs 7:6-22, and answer the following questions.

    2. Verses 6-9 of that passage say, “For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man ________ of understanding, Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, in the ________________, in the evening, in the __________ and dark night.”

Note:    Notice the conditions of secrecy that entices people to give in to lust — but God sees it all.

    3. Proverbs 15:3 says, “The _________ of the LORD are in __________ place, beholding the ________ and the good.”
4. Proverbs 7:10 says, “And, behold, there met him a woman with the ____________ of an ____________, and subtle of heart.”
5. Proverbs 7:13, 14 says, “So she ____________ him, and ____________ him, and with an impudent face said unto him, I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.”

Note:   The word impudent means, “lacking modesty; marked by contemptuous or (self-confident) boldness.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)

    6. In Proverbs 7:16-18, she continues to entice the young man to sin with her. “I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with ________ linen of Egypt. I have ________________ my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. ________, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.”
7. Verse 21 shows that she was successful in her enticement. “With her much fair speech she caused him to __________, with the flattering of her lips she ____________ him.”
8. Verse 22 says, “He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the __________________, or as a fool to the correction of the ____________.”

 

If the young man’s loins were protected by truth (to see beyond her

enticements to the destruction), he would have never lusted after her.

 

    9. Joseph is a good example of someone whose loins were protected by truth. Genesis 39:7-10 says, “And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s ________ cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, ______ with me. But he ______________, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great ____________________, and sin against God?”
10. Verse 10 goes on to show the importance of having your armor on every day. “And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph ______ by ______, that he hearkened ______ unto her, to lie by her, or to be ________ her.”

Illustration:    A young man helped his dad lay bricks on an addition to their home. When the job was completed, his dad used an acid solution to wash the mortar spills off from the face of the bricks. To show his son what the acid would do, he threw a little piece of hardened mortar into the pail of acid. It immediately began to fizz and bubble as the acid ate into the mortar.
The young man noticed that the acid had a distinctive smell to it. Even though the acid was clear, or had a slight yellowish cast to it, the young man would never forget that smell. If he was ever offered a drink of such a mixture by an enemy, he would have immediately recognized that smell, and turned away, because he had seen the deadliness of the acid.
Even so it is when your loins are protected by truth. When you know the certainty of judgment for committing immorality, then it will cause the flesh to be repulsed — not enticed, to commit that sin.

    11. Proverbs 7:25-27 says, “Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many ____________ men have been __________ by her. Her house is the way to ________, going down to the chambers of __________.”
12. The same situation is seen in Proverbs 9:13-18, and verses 16-18 say, “Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the ________ are there; and that her guests are in the depths of ________.”

Note:   If you have gone down that wrong path — now is the time to get right with God.

    13. Isaiah 55:7 says, “Let the wicked forsake his ______, and the unrighteous man his ________________: and let him ____________ unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly ____________.”

B. Protection for your breast.

    1. Ephesians 6:14 says, “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the ______________________ of __________________________.”

Note:   The breastplate protects your heart area. What is the armor to guard your heart? Righteousness.

    2. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep thy __________ with all diligence; for out of it are the ______________ of life.”

 

Many issues can arise quickly in a day. What is really in your heart, is going to show in those times.

 

   3. Proverbs 23:7 says, in part, “For as he ________________ in his __________, so is he.”

Note:   The Bible talks about decisions being made in the heart — not just in the mind. The mind may think about the issues that you face, but it is the heart that weighs the moral implications.

    4. Proverbs 11:3 says, “The __________________ of the upright shall __________ them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.”

Note:   The word integrity means, “firm adherence to a code of especially moral values; incorruptibility; an unimpaired condition; soundness.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)

    5. Matthew 12:34 says, “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the __________ the __________ speaketh.”
6. The next verse of that chapter says, “A good man out of the good treasure of the __________ bringeth forth ________ things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth ________ things.”

 

It can be quickly seen if your heart is set upon righteousness, or upon evil, when the opportunity arises.

 

    7. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit thy __________ unto the LORD, and thy ________________ shall be established.”

Note:   If you are dedicated to living righteously, then your thoughts will also be established in that direction.

    8. Psalm 37:3, 4 says, “Trust in the LORD, and do ________; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. ______________ thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine __________.”

Note:   The breastplate of righteousness will guard your heart and your life. What it means is truly putting God first in your life.

    9. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye __________ the kingdom of God, and his __________________________; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

    10. Romans 14:17 says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but __________________________, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

C. Protection for your feet. (vs. 15)

    1. Ephesians 6:15 says, “And your feet shod with the ______________________ of the ____________ of peace.”

Note:   Many people’s feet take them to the wrong places. If you are not saved, your feet can take you to the wrong places that your flesh loves, and keep you from repenting and trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.

    2. Mark 9:45 says, “And if thy ________ offend thee, cut it ______: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into ________, into the fire that never shall be quenched.”

 

If you are saved, prepare your feet to take the gospel to others when you leave the house.

It will be armor to keep you from indulging in sin while you are gone.

 

    3. Psalm 68:11 says, “The Lord gave the ________: great was the company of those that __________________ it.”

Note:   Do not leave home without praying about your influence upon others while you are gone. The Lord has given His Word, now He desires that a great host would publish it.
The word publish means, “to make generally known; to make public announcement of; to disseminate to the public; to produce or release for distribution.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)
    As you leave the house, be ready to share the gospel with other people by word of mouth, and through the printed page. Check that you have some gospel tracts with you before you leave. You can give them to people; leave one at the restaurant with your tip; place them at telephone booths; leave one in the restroom; leave some in the magazines (like bookmarks) at the doctor’s office, etc.

— Please read Romans 10:13-15, and answer the following questions.

    4. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall ________ upon the name of the Lord shall be __________.”
5. Verse 14 says, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they ______________ in him of whom they have not __________? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
6. Verse 15 then says, “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the ________ of them that preach the ____________ of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
7. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my ________ be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me ________, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall ______________ in the thing whereto I sent it.”

 

When you leave the house with your feet prepared to take the gospel to others,

it is going to protect you from getting involved in sin while you are gone.

You will not want to go anywhere; or do anything; or say anything;

that would turn someone away from receiving the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

    8.   1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 says, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all _____________________ of ________. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved __________________ unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

 

Chapter 4

 

D. Protection for your general body. (vs. 16)

    1. Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of __________, wherewith ye shall be able to ____________ all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Note:  You will notice that this piece of armor is not stationary; that is, it is not fixed in one place. The shield can be quickly moved to protect any part of the body from the fiery darts of the wicked.  Of what material is this shield made? Faith. And where do you get faith?

    2. Romans 10:17 says, “So then __________ cometh by hearing, and hearing by the ________ of God.”

Note:   Now we are back to the importance of reading the Word of God, the Bible, each day. That is where we get faith.

    3. Hebrews 11:3 says, “Through __________ we understand that the worlds were framed by the ________ of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Note:   How do we know that evolution is false? From reading the Bible. We are kept from the temptation of believing a foolish lie, because of the shield of faith we get from reading the Bible.

    4. Hebrews 11:24, 25 says, “By __________ Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer ____________________ with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of ______ for a season.”

Note:   How do we know that a life of sinful pleasure is very short-lived and not worth it? From reading the Bible. We are kept from hurting our lives, and the lives of others, when we live with the shield of faith up, from reading the Bible.
Jesus was tempted of the devil, and Jesus used the Word of God to defeat him. Please read Matthew 4:1-11, and answer the following questions.

    5. Verse 1 says, “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be ______________ of the __________.”
6. Verses 3, 4 say, “And when the ______________ came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is ______________, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every ________ that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

 

To defeat the tempter, Jesus quoted what was written in the Bible. And Jesus used the Bible each time

to quench the fiery darts of the devil. When temptations come your way, use the Word of God as a shield.

 

    7. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no ____________________ taken you but such as is common to man: but God is ________________, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to ____________, that ye may be able to bear it.”

Note:   Using the shield of faith means that you are going to be using the Bible to quench those temptations to sin.

    8. Sometimes a fiery dart of lust is going to be thrown at your eyes, and you will need the shield of faith found in Matthew 5:28, “But I say unto you, That whosoever ______________ on a woman to ________ after her hath committed ________________ with her already in his heart.”
9. Sometimes a fiery dart of rock music is going to be thrown at your ears, and it will start to give you the wrong thoughts. At that time, you need to bring up the shield of faith found in Ephesians 5:19, “Speaking to yourselves in ____________ and __________ and __________________ songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”
10. Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to ____________ all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Note:   The word quench means, “to put out, to extinguish; to cool suddenly by immersion.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)

 

What is necessary to have a fiery dart maintain its fire? Oxygen.

When the oxygen is removed, the fire will be extinguished.

Even so, Satan’s temptations are real, but when the shield

of faith comes up, the oxygen of fleshly appetites is cut off.

 

    That is why the repentant drunkard can say “No” to alcohol. When he raises the shield of faith, the fleshly appetite is quenched.

    11. Proverbs 20:1 says, “Wine is a ____________, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not ________.”
12. Proverbs 23:31 says, “Look ______ thou upon the ________ when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it ____________ itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.”

 

The shield of faith does not deflect your problem at someone else, but extinguishes it.

 

Note:   If you had hundreds of dollars invested in tapes or CD’s of rock music, and the Lord convicted you that that music is wrong (which it is), what would you do with all of those tapes or CD’s? Would you sell them to someone else, to try and gain back some of the money that you lost? Or would you just destroy them? You can see what the early Christians did in a similar situation.

    13. Acts 19:18, 19 says, “And many that believed came, and __________________, and showed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their __________ together, and ____________ them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty ________________ pieces of silver.”

 

If you are involved in the wrong thing — destroy it —  do not pass it on to someone else so it also corrupts them.

 

E. Protection for your head. (vs. 17a)

    1. Ephesians 6:17 says, “And take the ____________ of salvation…”

Note:   And what is this helmet that protects our heads? Salvation. Without the certain knowledge that you are saved, your mind is going to be filled with doubts and questions, and you are a greater target for temptation to conquer you.

    2.   1 John 5:11-13 says, “And this is the ____________, that God hath given to us ______________ life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may ________ that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
3.   2 Timothy 1:12 says, “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I ________ whom I have believed, and am persuaded that ____ is able to ________ that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

 

Many times the battle is won or lost in the mind.

That is why it is so important to have on the helmet of salvation.

 

Note:   If Satan can get you to doubting, then Satan has a good chance of getting you to sin. That is exactly what we see in Genesis 3:1-6. Please read that passage and answer the following questions.

    4. Verse 1 says, “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, ________ God ________, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
5. Verses 2, 3 say, “And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not ______ of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”
6. Verses 4, 5 say, “And the ______________ said unto the woman, Ye shall ______ surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
7. Verse 6 says, “And when the woman saw that the tree was ________ for food, and that it was ______________ to the eyes, and a tree to be ______________ to make one wise, she ________ of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

Note:   Satan first put doubts into Eve’s mind as to what God had really said. Then he began to flat out deny God’s words. Sadly, Eve believed Satan, instead of God.

    8.   1 Timothy 2:14 says, “And Adam was not deceived, but the __________ being ______________ was in the transgression.”

 

Both Adam and Eve sinned. The difference was that Adam sinned knowing full well

that when it was over, they would be in trouble; but Eve thought they would really be

better off after they sinned. It was a foolish choice on the part of both of them.

 

    9. Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man ______ entered into the world, and __________ by sin; and so death ____________ upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
10. Isaiah 55:7 says, “Let the wicked forsake his ______, and the unrighteous man his ________________: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
11. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For by grace are ye saved through __________; and that not of ____________________: it is the gift of God: Not of __________, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should ________ in them.”

F. Provision for your weapon. (vs. 17b)

    1. Ephesians 6:17 says, “And take the helmet of salvation, and the __________ of the Spirit, which is the ________ of God.”

 

This is the first piece of armor for the Christian soldier that not only

protects him, but also is a weapon against the enemy.

 

    2. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the ________ of God is quick, and ________________, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the __________.”
3. Jeremiah 23:29 says, “Is not my ________ like as a ________? saith the LORD; and like a ____________ that breaketh the rock in pieces?”

 

What is interesting is that it is not called our  sword.

Ephesians 6:17 calls it, “…the sword of the ____________…”

 

Note:   This shows us that for this sword to be successfully used, we must be submitted to the Holy Spirit. If it was our sword, we would probably use it to destroy all of our enemies.

    4.   2 Corinthians 3:6 says, “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the ___________, but of the ____________: for the letter ______________, but the spirit giveth ________.”

Note:   The Holy Spirit wants us to use His Sword in our hands to bring about life-changing results. If left to us, many times we would use the power of the Word to destroy our enemies, like James and John were thinking.

    5. Luke 9:51-56 says, “And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not ______________ him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command ________ to come down from heaven, and ______________ them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to ______________ men’s lives, but to ________ them. And they went to another village.”
6. John 3:17 says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to ______________ the world; but that the world through him might be __________.”

 

The Holy Spirit wants to use the Sword to bring conviction

and repentance — not just immediate death and judgment.

 

    7. John 16:7, 8 says, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the __________________ will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of ______, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”
8. John 14:26 explains who the Comforter is: “But the Comforter, which is the ________   __________, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Note:   We need the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit when using the Sword, the Word of God.

    9. Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, “If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but ____________ is profitable to ____________.”

Illustration:    You may have something that is very powerful, but if it is not directed right, it will not have the desired effect. When America got involved in World War II fighting the Japanese and the Germans, we had something that was highly guarded and treasured — the bomb sights. It allowed us a measure of precision in dropping bombs that other nations did not have at the time. It is the same when using the Word of God. We need the precision guidance of the Holy Spirit when using this weapon.

    10. Romans 8:26, 27 says, “Likewise the ____________ also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should _________ for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh _________________________ for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the ________ of God.”

Note:   We have an awesome weapon, the Bible, and it comes with the Owner, the Holy Spirit. Let Him guide you in its use.

Chapter 5

 

G. Protection for your life. (vs. 18a)

    1. Ephesians 6:18 says, “______________ always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…”

Note:   This piece of armor may not be able to be seen, but it might sometimes be heard. This piece of armor is prayer. Prayer is defined as, “an address (as a petition) to God in word or thought.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)

    2. Sometimes prayer can be heard by others, as was the case in John 11:41-44, “Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, ____________, I thank thee that thou hast __________ me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the ____________ which stand by I said it, that they may ______________ that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”

 

Sometimes it benefits those around us to hear us pray

out loud to our heavenly Father for strength and help.

 

Note:   If people only prayed silently when they were in danger and needed armor, then God would only be glorified in the heart of the one who prayed silently. But if in such times the prayer is offered audibly, then many will glorify God in the deliverance that He gives.
But there are other times when we pray silently when we are facing difficult situations. Prayer is part of our armor, and it needs to be used quickly in these times.

 

    3. Nehemiah 2:1-4 shows us one of those times: “And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime ______ in his presence. Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was ________ sore ____________, And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I ____________ to the God of heaven.”

 

Prayer that is long does not necessarily produce stronger armor.

God is not impressed with the length  of a prayer, but with the sincerity   of it.

 

    4. Matthew 6:7, 8 says, “But when ye pray, use not vain ______________________, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their ________ speaking. Be ______ ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

 

H. Protection for your friends. (vs. 18b)

    1. Ephesians 6:18 says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for ______    ____________.”

 

Here is a part of your armor that you may not have realized — Christian friends.

That is right. Christian friends praying for you is part of your armor.

 

Note:   When a fellow Christian falls into sin, do you ever ask yourself, “Did I fail in praying for my brother or sister in Christ?” You should ask yourself that question.
Goliath was wicked and deserved to die, but the occasion of his death shows the importance of friends when it comes to armor.

    2. 1 Samuel 17:49 says, “And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a __________, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his __________________, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.”

Note:   It is true that the helmet did not cover his forehead, but there was a piece of armor that was supposed to protect him in that area. The problem was that that piece of armor was in the hands of another person.

    3. 1 Samuel 17:4-7 says, “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named ______________, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and ______ bearing a ____________ went before him.”
4. When the actual confrontation between David and Goliath took place, that man bearing the shield was there. 1 Samuel 17:41 says, “And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the ______ that bare the ____________ went before him.”

 

Goliath’s life was in the hands of another man who was responsible for part of his armor,

and that man failed. Do you take it seriously when another Christian falls into sin?

Could part of the reason for that Christian’s failure be laid upon you for not praying for him/her?

 

    5. Samuel took it very seriously that he should be praying for God’s people. 1 Samuel 12:23 says, “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should ______ against the Lord in ceasing to ________ for you.”
6. Listen to what Jesus said in Luke 22:31, 32, “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, __________ hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have ____________ for thee, that thy faith fail ______: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Note:   The word supplication means, “to ask for earnestly and humbly.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)   We need to earnestly and humbly pray for our Christian brothers and sisters.
The word perseverance means, “steadfastness.” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary)  We need to be faithful in our prayers for the brethren.

    7.   1 Thessalonians 5:25 says, “Brethren, ________ for us.”
8.   2 Thessalonians 3:1, 2 says, “Finally, brethren, ________ for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be __________________ from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.”
9. Hebrews 13:18 says, “________ for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.”
10. Philemon 22 says, “But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that ______________ your ______________ I shall be given unto you.”

Note:    Christian, here is the armor that God has given. Do you have each piece put on in your life? If it is not on, then it is not going to be protecting you, and you are going to be spiritually defeated day-by-day.

 

A. Protection for your loins is truth.
— it will help you see that fleshly enticements are not worth it, but lead to judgment

B. Protection for your breast is righteousness.
— a life dedicated to living righteously is going to guard your heart from seeking after the wrong things

C. Protection for your feet is the preparation of the gospel of peace.
— your feet will not take you to the wrong places, if you leave the house with the desire to share the gospel with other people that they might be saved

D. Protection for your general body is faith.
— this shield is moveable, and can come to the aid of any part of your body that is tempted

E. Protection for your head is salvation.
— you need to be assured in your mind that you are saved, and that there really is a purpose for your life, or you might get discouraged and fall into sin

F. Provision for your weapon is the Bible.
— Jesus used the Bible to defeat Satan when he was tempting Him

G. Protection for your life is prayer.
— we are told to pray lest we enter into temptation

H. Protection for your friends is your prayer.
— the Bible is clear that our prayers are part of the armor of our fellow Christians

Are you certain that if you died today, you would go to heaven?

1. Do you realize that you have sinned?

(Romans 3:23)  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

(1 John 1:8)   “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

(Ecclesiastes 7:20)   “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

 

2. Do you realize the penalty for your sin?

(Romans 6:23)   “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

 

3. Do you realize that if you die in your sin, you will go to hell?

(Psalms 9:17)   “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

(Proverbs 15:24)   “The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.”

(Luke 12:4-5)   “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.   But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

 

4. Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, paid that death penalty for you?

(Matthew 1:21-23)    “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.    Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,     Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

(John 14:6-7)    “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.   If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”

(John 3:16)    “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

(Romans 5:8)   “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

(1 Peter 3:18)   “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”

(1 Peter 2:24)   “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

 

5. Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can be saved, and not through any good works of your own?

(1 John 1:7)   “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

(1 Peter 1:18-19)   “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;    But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

(Ephesians 2:8-9)   “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:    Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

(Titus 3:5-7)   “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;   Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;   That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

 

6. Do you realize that after Jesus died for your sins, He arose victorious from the grave the third day, proving that His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for all of the sins of the whole world?

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4)    “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;   By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;   And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

 

7. Do you realize that to be saved you must repent (you must have the desire to turn from your sin and false beliefs, and have the desire for God to transform your life)?

(Luke 13:3)   “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

(Acts 3:19)   “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

(Acts 26:20)   “But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.”

(Mark 9:43-48)   “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.   And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.   And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”

 

8. Do you realize that after you get saved, God’s first command for you is to get baptized and then to live for Him?

(Acts 2:41)   “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”

(Romans 6:1-4)   “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?   God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?    Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

(2 Corinthians 5:17)    “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

(Titus 3:3-8)   “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.   But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,   Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;   Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;   That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.   This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”

(Titus 2:11-14)    “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,   Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;   Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;   Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

(1 Corinthians 6:9-11)   “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,   Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.   And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

(Galatians 5:19-26)   “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,    Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.   And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.   If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.   Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

(1 Corinthians 11:14-15)   “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?    But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.”

(Deuteronomy 22:5)   “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.”

(Ephesians 4:22-32)   “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.    Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.   Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:   Neither give place to the devil.   Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.   And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.   Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:    And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

 

9. Are you ready to now ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you?

(John 1:12)   “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

(Romans 10:9-11)   “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.    For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

(Romans 10:13)   “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

(1 John 5:13)   “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

 

 

ATTENTION:    If you die before you make this decision, then you will spend eternity in the torment of hell fire.  Turn from your wickedness and sin, and humble yourself before Almighty God right now.

Bow your head right now and confess to God that you are a sinner deserving judgment.  Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you.  Tell Him that you now repent, and ask Him to cleanse your life, and to give you the power to live for Him.  Tell Him that you are trusting in His shed blood alone to cleanse you from all your sin.  Ask Him to lead you to a good, Bible-preaching church, where you can follow the first command after salvation — that of getting baptized and publicly confessing your faith in Him.  Ask Him to help you find some good Christian friends to encourage you in the faith and to help you grow.
