Question:
What is the reason for the great falling away from the Church in these last days ????
Answer:
I suppose the answer to that is simply man’s sinful heart. II Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” II Timothy 3:1-7 says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Those verses sure sound like today. People have more education than ever, and are also more wicked than ever. It sounds like the time may be very short to serve the Lord. Philippians 2:15,16 says, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.”
The thing to do in these unfaithful days, is for us to be faithful. I Corinthians 15:58 tells us, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
