Rate how sure you are
of going to heaven.
Could you not choose all 5 stars? Why? Let’s find the answer.
Who owns heaven? God does, because He created it. “In the beginning GOD CREATED the HEAVEN and the earth.” (Holy Bible, Genesis 1:1, KJV)
If you are not sure whether God will let you into heaven, it is because you are not sure of your relationship with Him.
If you knocked on the door of your grandparent’s house; your parent’s house; or your friend’s house; you would be 5 stars sure of being let in—if your relationship with them was good and right.
So if you are not 5 stars sure that God would let you into heaven, then there is some doubt in your mind about your relationship with God.
This is the reason: “But your iniquities have SEPARATED between YOU and your GOD, and YOUR SINS have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Holy Bible, Isaiah 59:2, KJV) What sins have separated you from God? Any and all sins.
Have you ever lied?
To your parents? To your teacher? To your boss? To your husband or wife? To your friends? To the government about taxes? To God?
One of the 10 Commandments is, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 20:16a, KJV) “Lie not one to another.” (Holy Bible, Colossians 3:9a, KJV)
How many lies do you have to tell to be called a liar? Just one.
This is the penalty for lying: “And all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Holy Bible, Revelation 21:8b, KJV) Now you know why you could not choose 5 stars, because liars do not go to heaven—they are cast into hell.
Have you ever swore using God’s name—or said a bad word?
“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” (Holy Bible, Exodus 20:7a, KJV) How many times do you have to swear using God’s name to be called a blasphemer? Just once. “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth.” (Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:29 a. KJV)
Are you a liar and a blasphemer? Then now you know why you could not choose 5 stars.
Have you ever lusted?
Have you ever looked at someone and had intimate thoughts (at someone to whom you were not married)? Jesus said, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 5:28, KJV)
Does this add to the reasons why you are not 5 stars sure that God would let you into heaven? Is your relationship with God not right, because you are a liar, and a blasphemer, and an adulterer at heart?
There is hope—there is a way for you to get forgiven of all your sins right now.
#1—Admit that you have sinned, and be sorry for it.
“For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 38:18, KJV) “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.” (Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 7:10a, KJV)
#2—Acknowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, and that He died for your sins.
“For the wages of sin is death.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:23a, KJV) “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Holy Bible, Romans 5:8b, KJV) “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.” (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 2:24a, KJV) “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” (Holy Bible, Acts 8:37 , Holy Bible)
#3—Acknowledge that Jesus Christ rose from the grave.
“He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:4b, KJV)
#4—Ask Him to save you now.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” “For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the LORD shall be SAVED.” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV)
#5—After you ask Jesus to save you, rejoice and be baptized.
“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized.” (Holy Bible, Acts 2:41a, KJV) Baptism does not save us—it is just a picture of us identifying with Jesus’ death and burial (as we are placed down under the water), and with His resurrection (as we are brought up out of the water). Baptism shows our desire to now live for God. “Even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:4b, KJV)
Yes, I just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me and to save me, and I do want to now walk in that newness of life.
