Description
Departure: Wichita, Kansas
Destination: Washington, D.C.
It was Wednesday, January 29, 2025. During the desent of flight AA-5342 to the Ronald Reagan Airport, the destination of the flight suddenly changed when the air-plane collided in a huge fireball with an Army Blackhawk helicoptor on a training mission. No one survived.
Skaters, Parents & Coaches
On the flight, were many young ice skaters—some, not even yet in their teens. With them were parents and coaches. They invested so many hours of their lives in training and practice—but did anyone take time to prepare them for eternity? “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth.” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 12:1, KJV) Young or old, only one heartbeat separates you, like them, from eternity. Are you ready?
Hunting Friends
On board there were also 7 friends coming home from a duck hunting trip. They went a long way to seek for ducks—but how about for God? “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:13, KJV) Have you earnestly sought for God?
Lawyers
One lawyer was looking forward to a honeymoon trip. Another was fly-ing home to celebrate her 33rd birth-day. Exciting plans—but did they make any plans for eternity? “Prepare to meet thy God.” (Holy Bible, Amos 4:12b, KJV) What plans do you have? Are you prepared to meet God?
Professional Tradesmen
One man was a 43 year old IT tech, and another man was a 44 year old construction superintendent. Those are both good paying jobs—but what was their bottom line in eternity? “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Holy Bible, Mark 8:36, KJV) Will you lose your soul at death?
Airline Pilot—Certainty
The family of one of the airline pilots found comfort, “We know that he’s with Jesus.” “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”(Holy Bible, Acts 16:31a, KJV) Are you certain that you will be with Jesus?
Blackhawk Pilot—Secrecy
The names of two of the three pilots on the Blackhawk helicopter were released according to Army policy, “24 hours after next of kin notification;” but policy was broken for the third one. At a later date, the third name was finally released, but many sources report that all social media of that pilot, siblings, and family, had been erased from online. What did they want hidden? Do you realize that God knows all of your secrets? “Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 90:8, KJV)
Where Is Your Destination?
Have you ever told a lie? “All liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.” (Holy Bible, Revelation 21:8b, KJV) That is your eternal destination, unless you get your sins forgiven. To be forgiven, someone who is perfect would have to pay the wages of your sin (death). “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 5:48, KJV)
Only One Person Is Perfect.
That is God. The Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh; the virgin born Son of God, the Creator. He was willing to die in your place, suffering the punishment for your sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Holy Bible, Romans 5:8, KJV) “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree” (the cross). (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 2:24a), KJV) The proof that Jesus successfully paid the wages of your sin (death), is the fact that He arose from the grave. (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:4b, KJV)
Repent. “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.” (Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 7:10, KJV) “For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 38:18, KJV)
From your heart, call upon the Lord Jesus to save you. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” “For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the LORD shall be SAVED.” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV)
After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save us, then God instructs us to get baptized under the water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism does not save us—it is just the outward testimony that Jesus has saved us, and that we now want to identify our lives with Him. “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4, KJV)
Yes, I just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me and to save me, and I do want to now walk in that newness of life.
