    1. The actual translating committee was transdenominational (it was made up of people from ________ denominations). It was noted that this helped "safeguard the translation from sectarian ________."
    2. The actual result of that is the opposite. It is not the Bible that they are trying to safeguard -- it is the sects, the denominations, that they are trying to safeguard from passages which condemn their ________________________ practices. (like baptizing babies, etc.)
    3. The NIV is copyrighted by the International Bible Society © 1973, 1978, 1984, so this translation may ______ be freely printed and distributed. The King James Bible may be freely copied and distributed to people. (If you have a KJV which stipulates that the text is copyrighted, then you do ______ have a true KJV, but a text that a publisher has tampered with enough to copyright).
    4. Matthew 17:21 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."
    5. Do you understand now why the devil would want that verse removed from the Bible? He does not want a host of Christians who are right with God and have power in prayer, for they would prevail over him and his demons. Jesus said the key is _____________ and ______________, and the NIV has removed the key.
    6. Matthew 18:11 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."
    7. With the removal of verse 11 in the NIV, ("For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost"), a person could easily think that the way to God and to heaven is through the ____________. That belief will send a person to hell, for the angels are not to be worshipped, and they cannot save.
    8. Why would Satan want verse 11 to be removed, and then to have people look to angels to deliver them? Because __________ himself is an angel — a fallen angel, and he has always wanted man to worship him — not the Lord Jesus Christ.
    9. Matthew 23:14 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
    10. Many people look around and see all of the evil taking place, and they accuse God of not caring. They see the hypocrisy, even in religious circles, and they decide that life is not fair, and that God is not fair. So they set out to do as wickedly as they please. That is exactly what Satan wants. Verse 14 shows that God does care about what is happening, and that He will one day give to all people ______________ what they deserve — but the verse is completely missing in the NIV.
    11. How can the torment in hell be of different degrees for different people? The same way that there are different degrees of ____________ today. Light a match, and you will have a flame that hurts you. Now, light a propane torch, and you will have a flame that hurts more, because it is hotter. Now, light a gas welder, and add some oxygen to the acetylene, and you have a flame that will hurt more severely, because it is hotter. That is the same way that the lake of fire will hold more torment for some. All who are there are in ________ in the flames of hell fire, but each person will receive the exact ____________ of punishment that each one deserves.
    12. Mark 7:16 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”
    13. The problem today is that many people think that they are basically ________ — not basically sinful and selfish. God wants all people to listen to what He has said, and apply it ____________________. The NIV has removed this verse completely. That is exactly what Satan wants — for people to not apply the Bible to themselves personally.
    14. Mark 9:44 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
    15. Many different denominations were involved in the translation work of the NIV, and many churches are forsaking the idea that there is a literal, eternal, lake of fire for the lost. For those who believe in some kind of punishment, they generally think that it is __________________, and then man will be released. This verse teaches two very important things: number one, that people are physically whole, but experiencing an eternal dying for ever in hell; and, number two, that there is eternal torment in hell.
    16. When the body dies, the worms come and feed upon it. But when the body is consumed, the worms perish. The Bible says in verse 44 that when people are resurrected and cast into the lake of fire, their worms will not die. That is clear language showing that those people’s bodies continue to be physically whole — but forever dying and their bodies never ________________.
    17. Mark 9:46 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
    18. This is repeating the same previous verse. When God repeats something, it is because He wants man to ____________________ note that thing.
    19. Mark 11:26 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
    20. Satan would love for people to not take this “forgiving others thing” seriously. For he knows that if they do not, then their ____________ lives will be hindered, and he will then be able to accomplish more of his wicked plan.
    21. Mark 15:28 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.”
    22. The fulfillment of prophecy in Scripture is counted as a very important thing in the Bible. For one thing, it proves the ________________________ character of the Bible.
    23. The Bible is very careful to mention that every last prophecy in Scripture about the cross and Jesus’ life was __________________ before He died — right up to saying, “I thirst.” The NIV translators did not revere the Scripture in that same way, for they took out an entire verse that referenced the fulfillment of prophecy in Jesus’ life.
    24. Luke 17:36 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”
    25. The NIV totally removed verse 36 there, but all three of those verses are important, because they show the different ________ zones that will all be affected when the Lord returns — some will be sleeping; some will be grinding early in the morning; and some will be working during the day in the field.
    26. All three verses are also important when considering the responsibilities that all believers have. Two men are going to be in bed when the Lord returns — but only one is going to be prepared for His coming. That one should have warned the other one, instead of taking it for granted that another ______ would come for that. Two women are going to be grinding together, but only one is going to be prepared for the Lord’s coming. You can imagine how they talk while they work, but the one woman should have brought around the conversation to ______________ matters. Women have a responsibility to reach the women that God brings into their realm. And then the NIV removes the entire verse that shows the two men working together in the field. Men often neglect the important responsibility to reach those with whom they ________. Only one man is ready for the Lord’s return, and it happens right while they are at work.
    27. Luke 23:17 has been totally ______________ in the NIV “(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)”
    28. With the NIV’s removal of verse 17, verses 18 and 19 would make no sense. “And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.).” Why would the people suddenly cry out for a wicked murderer to be released from prison? What did that have to do with Jesus and His case? Absolutely nothing — except for the matter that Pilate was ________________ to release one prisoner at the feast.
    29. John 5:4 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.”
    30. Apart from the explanation that God was sending an angel to move or trouble the water, what might a person think? That the healing was coming through the water itself? Was it a hot mineral spring? Was it a geyser of some type with special healing abilities? By the NIV totally removing verse 4, people could easily think that people were healed there because of the special __________, instead of through God sending his angel. Satan wants people to look to natural things, instead of to God, for healing.
    31. Acts 8:37 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
    32. According to the NIV, ______________ hinders a person from getting baptized (because they entirely took away verse 37), so Philip baptized him. But according to the Bible (verse 37), a person cannot get baptized unless he first believes upon the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. What is so important about this verse is that it clearly rules out baptizing ____________ — a practice that many of the NIV translators (who were representative of Anglican’s, Lutheran’s, Reformed, Methodist’s, etc.) practice in their churches. Satan wants people to think that if a baby is baptized, he/she will go to heaven. Satan does not want people to know that they must first, personally trust Jesus Christ with all their hearts.
    33. Acts 15:34 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.”
    34. By Paul and Barnabas being willing to stand upon God’s Word, it not only stopped the false doctrine that some were spreading, but it also ended up being used of God to call out yet another ____________________ — Silas. Would that not be exciting, to think that God used you to __________________ a person to give his life full-time to missions? You do not get that example in the NIV, because the translators took this entire verse out of the Bible.
    35. Acts 24:7 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands.”
    36. The verse that the NIV has totally removed shows that the Jews are __________ about what really happened. It was not Lysias that came upon them with great violence, but they themselves that came upon Paul with great violence.
    37. Acts 28:29 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.”
    38. Many times when we witness to the lost, we may think that they discount what we say and think that it all sounds ridiculous. But if we only knew what they were really ________________ after they have heard the Word of God, we would sometimes be greatly encouraged to see how the Holy Spirit is indeed working in their hearts. But you would not get that encouragement from the NIV in this passage, because they removed this entire verse. That is Satan’s goal, to discourage people from witnessing, and to make them think that no one is really taking anything that they say very __________________.
    39. Romans 16:24 has been totally ______________ in the NIV. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
    40. In Colossians 1:14, the NIV removed the missing words below: “In whom we have redemption ______________   ______   __________, even the forgiveness of sins:”
    41. This was not a change to update Old English. Who does not understand the word blood? This is clearly the work of __________ — as he begins the gradual process of removing key things from the Scriptures.

Are you certain that if you died today, you would go to heaven?

 

1. Do you realize that you have sinned?

(Romans 3:23)  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

(1 John 1:8)   "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

(Ecclesiastes 7:20)   "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."

 

2. Do you realize the penalty for your sin?

(Romans 6:23)   "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

 

3. Do you realize that if you die in your sin, you will go to hell?

(Psalms 9:17)   "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God."

(Proverbs 15:24)   "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath."

(Luke 12:4-5)   "And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.   But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."

 

4. Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, paid that death penalty for you?

(Matthew 1:21-23)    "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.    Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,     Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

(John 14:6-7)    "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.   If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."

(John 3:16)    "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

(Romans 5:8)   "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

(1 Peter 3:18)   "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit."

(1 Peter 2:24)   "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

 

5. Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can be saved, and not through any good works of your own?

(1 John 1:7)   "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

(1 Peter 1:18-19)   "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;    But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."

(Ephesians 2:8-9)   "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:    Not of works, lest any man should boast."

(Titus 3:5-7)   "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;   Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;   That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

 

6. Do you realize that after Jesus died for your sins, He arose victorious from the grave the third day, proving that His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for all of the sins of the whole world?

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4)    "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;   By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;   And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."

 

7. Do you realize that to be saved you must repent (you must have the desire to turn from your sin and false beliefs, and have the desire for God to transform your life)?

(Luke 13:3)   "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

(Acts 3:19)   "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."

(Acts 26:20)   "But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance."

(Mark 9:43-48)   "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.   And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.   And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

 

8. Do you realize that after you get saved, God's first command for you is to get baptized and then to live for Him?

(Acts 2:41)   "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

(Romans 6:1-4)   "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?   God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?    Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

(2 Corinthians 5:17)    "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

(Titus 3:3-8)   "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.   But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,   Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;   Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;   That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.   This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

(Titus 2:11-14)    "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,   Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;   Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;   Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

(1 Corinthians 6:9-11)   "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,   Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.   And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."

(Galatians 5:19-26)   "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,    Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.   And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.   If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.   Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

(1 Corinthians 11:14-15)   "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?    But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."

(Deuteronomy 22:5)   "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."

(Ephesians 4:22-32)   "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.    Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.   Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:   Neither give place to the devil.   Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.   And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.   Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:    And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

 

9. Are you ready to now ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you?

(John 1:12)   "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."

(Romans 10:9-11)   "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.    For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

(Romans 10:13)   "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

(1 John 5:13)   "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

 

 

ATTENTION:    If you die before you make this decision, then you will spend eternity in the torment of hell fire.  Turn from your wickedness and sin, and humble yourself before Almighty God right now.

Bow your head right now and confess to God that you are a sinner deserving judgment.  Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you.  Tell Him that you now repent, and ask Him to cleanse your life, and to give you the power to live for Him.  Tell Him that you are trusting in His shed blood alone to cleanse you from all your sin.  Ask Him to lead you to a good, Bible-preaching church, where you can follow the first command after salvation — that of getting baptized and publicly confessing your faith in Him.  Ask Him to help you find some good Christian friends to encourage you in the faith and to help you grow.
