I was wondering how you can tell me that a church is not effectively reaching people because they use PowerPoint (multimedia presentations) as a tool.

Answer:

You would have to show me to which question you are referring that PowerPoint is not effective. I would say that it is effective; but much of the time, not in a Scriptural way. Effective = “producing a decided, decisive, or desired effect; IMPRESSIVE, STRIKING” (Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary). Yes, it can be effective in bringing in larger crowds of people (depending upon how radical the presentation is — whether it is used to just post the sermons points one-by-one, or whether it incorporates a whole video projector presentation with it). Posting the sermon notes is probably not going to be too effective as to the size of the crowd, but engineering a whole video presentation will.Continue reading

One could argue that you are using an “evil” tool in this web page. Honestly, most of the internet is pornography but you have seen fit to use it as a tool to reach people.

Answer:

As you will notice, most of this web site is simply giving the Word of God, calling people to repentance. We do not emphasize pictures, video clips, fancy computer graphics, etc. The most striking thing about this web site is not its high tech appearance, but its simple, old-fashioned, warning that people need to get right with God, and that they need to recognize the fads of this present hour as error.Continue reading

Does the Bible say that we have to have (the) Lord’s Supper every week? Acts 20:7, please explain.

Answer:

1 Corinthians 11:26 says, “For AS OFTEN AS YE EAT THIS BREAD, AND DRINK THIS CUP, ye do show the Lord’s death till he come.”  It does not state “how often,” but just that we are to observe this ordinance of the local church.   Some churches observe the Lord’s Supper every month; some once every other month; some once a quarter; some once every six months; some once a year, etc.  It is up to the local church to decide how often they observe it.Continue reading

Why do some preachers believe that a man called of God should not be ordained until he is called to pastor a church? They also exclude evangelists from being ordained because they are not called to be pastors. Ephesians 4:11-12 clearly states that Evangelists are also placed in the ministry of God just like the others that are listed.

Ephesians 4:11, 12 says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”Continue reading

Holy Greetings. I came across your web site and thought I would comment. In reference to your should divorced people preach? I am divorced and do preach. I was not saved when I got my divorce and am now repented and remarried and will be getting Ordained and Co-Pastoring a Church. Jesus Christ himself said that all manner of sin shall be forgiven except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, even Pastors and Bishops and many people will sin or fall short before they reach heaven, that is why we have the Blood of Jesus Christ to help us in a time of need. I am not for sinning but rather unto a Holiness life consecrated unto Jesus, but I do feel that it is ok to Preach the Gospel if you are repented and are running for Jesus. Nathan did tell David that God was going to set a sword upon the house of David and Jesus came out of the line of David and REDEFINED the sword in Ephesians.
