Do both the saved and the lost attain immortality one day?

Question:

Actually I have 2 questions, why would Paul list and detail immortality as an exclusive reward for the righteous if both the wicked and righteous will receive immortality? Also, if the souls of the wicked go to hell in their torment and these souls can feel hear see and communicate, what is the purpose of God resurrecting the bodies of the wicked?Continue reading

Are some of our sins forgiven, but not forgotten?

Question:

In a recent evangelistic meeting that I attended, the speaker made a statement that I am curious about the accuracy of. The statement is paraphrased as follows: “The scripture in Psalm 103:12 that says as far as the east is removed from the west so hath god removed my transgressions, is only applicable at the time that you are born again.”

The speaker said that “God will forgive us of sin, but after we are saved all sins from that point on though forgiven will not be forgotten.” He said that there will be punishment of these sins even if they are confessed. I have never heard this concept before. What is your insight?Continue reading

Was it God’s will for Adam and Eve to sin, so we would have the opportunity to know the Savior?

Question:

Hello there. I have recently become a Christian and have many questions regarding our Faith. Any help or insight would certainly be appreciated. Thank you and Lord Bless You.  Was it the will of our Lord for Adam and Eve to sin? Was it God’s plan for sin to enter the world? Sometimes I think it was, because if they hadn’t, none of us would even have the opportunity to know our Savior. Continue reading

How were people saved in the Old Testament?

Question:

I have a question about salvation in the old testament. You pointed out scriptures in Isa. 53 and some other verses to explain that faith in Christ was always the way of salvation. I’m a newer believer and I do trust 100% in the finished work of Jesus Christ for my salvation. I’m confused over whether people in the old testament looked forward to Christ with a full understanding of the Gospel of Grace that the Apostle Paul teaches in his epistles. Rom. 16:25,26 has me confused. In Gen. 15:5,6 Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. In Luke 18:31-34, Jesus explains the resurrection to the twelve and they didn’t understand and it was hid from them. I know the resurrection is part of the gospel in which we must believe to be saved. I’ve been taught some dispensational teachings, as you probably already figured out. I now attend a Baptist church and they always say at my church that looking forward to the cross was the way of salvation in the old testament. Did they look forward with a full understanding that Christ’s sacrificial death and bodily resurrection would be the way to eternal life and trust in that back then? I don’t believe that old testament saints were saved by obeying the law. NOBODY has ever kept the law except Christ. I believe that Christ is the means of salvation for EVERYONE. But, did people believe in what God revealed to them such as Abraham? That’s faith. Did Abraham look forward to the cross with a full understanding of the gospel of grace? This gets very deep.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  Take care and God Bless.Continue reading

“Free will? Calvinism?”

Question:

Thanks again for your response. I have read some Calvinists works but also many non-Calvinists. I accept that a person cannot be born again without hearing the Gospel. What I am not sure about is what decides a man’s response to that Gospel. It seems to me that we have two options:Continue reading
