Not sure? Then let me tell you—there are only two ways to go…
One way is UP—that is to HEAVEN.
“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you” (Holy Bible, 1 Peter 1:4, KJV).
The other way is DOWN—that is, to HELL.
“To be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched” (Holy Bible, Mark 9:45, KJV).
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Holy Bible, Revelation 20:15, KJV).
So which way are YOU going? How can you make sure that you are going to heaven?
Can you try cleaning up your own life? No, that will not work.
“All our righteous-nesses are as filthy rags” (Holy Bible, Isaiah 64:6, KJV)
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Holy Bible, Romans 3:10, KJV).
How about trying to cut out the bad things in your life? Sorry, but our hearts often deceive us as to what is bad, and to what is good. We easily excuse what-ever we want to do.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Holy Bible, Jeremiah 17:9, KJV)
“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 7:20, KJV).
So what about self-denial and disciplined training and winning many awards for it? No, that does not impress God, either.
“He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy” (Holy Bible, Psalm 147:10,11, KJV).
Then what can a person do to be SAVED and SURE of going to heaven?
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Holy Bible, Acts 16:30,31, KJV).
God sees everything that you do, and has it recorded for the judgment day.
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Holy Bible, Proverbs 15:3, KJV).
God knows everything that you are thinking.
“Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 139:2, KJV).
Quit trying to cover up your sin, and confess it to God.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Holy Bible, Acts 3:19, KJV).
Now do not wait until you are old to trust the Lord Jesus Christ—you have no guarantee of another day.
“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (Holy Bible, James 4:14b, KJV).
Who is the Lord Jesus Christ?
He is the Son of God; God in the flesh; Creator of heaven and earth. His name, Lord, means Master; Jesus means Savior; Christ means Messiah/King. He died on the cross for you, and gave His pure, sinless blood to pay the wages of your sin, which is death. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:23, KJV). He then arose from the grave the third day, proving that His blood fully paid for our sins. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4, KJV).
To be saved, you must call upon the Lord Jesus from your heart. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” “For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the LORD shall be SAVED” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV).
After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save us, then God instructs us to openly confess Him by getting baptized under the water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. “The eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” (Holy Bible, Acts 8:36b-37, KJV) “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:4, KJV).
Yes, I want to walk in that newness of life, and I have just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me and to save me.
