Chapter 2

II. What Is Salvation?

1. In Luke chapter 1, Zacharias is told that he and his wife are going to have a baby, and he is told to name the baby ________. (vs.13)

2. He was told that the son would bring them great joy, because:

    a. “He shall be __________ in the sight of the Lord.” (vs.15a)

    b. “And shall drink ______________ wine nor strong drink.” (vs.15b)

    c. “And he shall be filled with the __________________, even from his mother’s womb.” (vs.15c)

    d. “And ________ of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.” (vs.16)

3. Luke 1:76,77 goes on to further describe the ministry that John the Baptist would have: “And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the __________________ of their sins.”

Note: Salvation is the “remission” of a person’s sins. Remission means forgiveness.

4. Jesus said in Matthew 26:28, “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the __________________ of sins.”

5. Acts 13:38 says, “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the ______________________ of sins.”

6. Further, in Acts 26:18 it says, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive ______________________ of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

7. This forgiveness is complete, as is shown in Hebrews 10:17,18, which says, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where __________________ of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”

Salvation   is clearly the remission  or forgiveness  of a

person’s sins. It is a complete forgiveness — one

that requires no more offering for sin.

Question: Do you realize that salvation is the forgiveness of all your sins? Do you realize that it covers ALL your sins, and that it is a complete forgiveness? Yes No
