Description
If you were driving and came to this sign: “ROAD ENDS,” what would you do? Well that answer is simple—you would turn around, and find the right road that takes you to where you want to go.
Where do you want to go?
Most people would say that they want to go to heaven some day. The question is, “Are you are on the right road to get there?” Or, are you on a “Dead End” road? Many will discover that answer, too late.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.”(Holy Bible, Matthew 7:13, KJV) Did you think you were on that road?
Why are “many” on that road?
1)—Because it says that the gate is “wide.” The word “wide” means, “spacious, liberal, having a great extent every way.”(Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary) In fact, everyone is conceived and born on that road. “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 51:5, KJV)
2)—It is easy to stay on that wrong road, because it says that it is “broad.” The word “broad” means, “extending far and wide, vast.”(Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary)
3)—It is easy to feel pressured to stay on that road, because it says that “many” are on it.
Why are “few” not on that road?
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Holy Bible, Matthew 7:14, KJV)
1)—Few find the right road, because the gate is “strait.” That word means, “tight, close.” (Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary) Jesus said, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (Holy Bible, John 3:19, KJV)
2) It is harder to think about getting on the right road, because on the broad road you can believe (or make believe) anything that you want; but if you want to go to heaven, the way is narrow—it is only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Holy Bible, John 14:6, KJV)
3)—It is harder to take that step of faith to get on the right road, because it says that “few” are on it. People find it hard to go against the crowd. “For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” (Holy Bible, John 12:43, KJV)
Remember the simple answer if you come to a “ROAD ENDS” sign? You turn around.
This spiritual turn that you need to make is called “repentance.” “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.” (Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 7:10a, KJV) “For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Holy Bible, Psalm 38:18, KJV) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Holy Bible, Acts 3:19a, KJV) “That they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.” (Holy Bible, Acts 26:20b, KJV) “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Holy Bible, Acts 16:30b-31a, KJV)
Who is the Lord Jesus Christ?
He is the Son of God; God in the flesh; Creator of heaven and earth. Lord means Master. Jesus means Savior. Christ means Messiah. He died on the cross for you, and gave His pure, sinless blood to pay the wages of your sin, which is death. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:23, KJV). He then arose from the grave the third day, proving that His blood fully paid for our sins. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4, KJV).
To be saved, you must call upon the Lord Jesus from your heart. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” “For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the LORD shall be SAVED” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV).
After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save us, then God instructs us to openly confess Him by getting baptized under the water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. “The eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” (Holy Bible, Acts 8:36b-37, KJV) “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Holy Bible, Romans 6:4, KJV).
Yes, I just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me, and I do desire to now get baptized, and to live for God.
