TEXT VERSION

So what was the question?

“If you were to die today,

are you 100% sure that

you would go to heaven?”

People have so much on their minds today, that they do not often think about that question.  They have other decisions that seem to be more pressing, like:

“Where will I work?”

“Who should I marry?”

“Where will we live?”

These decisions are all very im-portant, and should not be hastily made; and yet, there is a decision that is even more important: “Where will YOU spend eternity?”

Since God created heaven, earth, and mankind, people must one day answer to Him.  Are you ready?  Are you sure that He is going to grant you entrance into heaven?

“I’m 95% sure!”

Why would you be almost sure, but not really completely sure?  Why do you have some uncertainty about it?

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (Holy Bible, I John 5:13, KJV).

Do you see any uncertainty in that verse of Scripture?  Why is there no doubt seen there?  Because when you place your total belief and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in Him alone, there is assurance in your soul.  People doubt for several reasons.  Sometimes because they have not really repented of their sins.

“Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Holy Bible, Luke 13:3, KJV)

“I’m doing the best I can!”

Repentance is NOT you trying to clean up your own life.  If you try it on your own, you will always doubt whether you are saved; because you, like all of us, are a sinner.

“But WE ARE ALL as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Holy Bible, Isaiah 64:6, KJV).

Repentance is YOU TURNING FROM YOUR SIN TO GOD with the sincere desire that He cleanse you.

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.  Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. (Holy Bible, Psalm 51:1-3, KJV)

There are too many people that come to God with no desire to be cleansed from their sin.  Yes, they want to go to heaven — but they also want to continue in their sin.  Do you have the desire for God to cleanse you and give you a new, transformed life?

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Holy Bible, Matthew 7:13,14, KJV).

“I’m just leaving that decision up to the Lord!  Whatever He decides is okay with me.”

God has already said that He wants to save you.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (Holy Bible, I Timothy 2:3,4, KJV).

Now it is YOUR decision.

“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have NO PLEASURE in the DEATH of the WICKED; but that the wicked TURN from his WAY and LIVE” (Holy Bible, Ezekiel 33:11a, KJV).  TURN to the LORD JESUS CHRIST right now, and ask Him to FORGIVE you, and to CLEANSE you, and to SAVE you.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God; God Almighty in the flesh: Creator of heaven and earth.  He is Master, Savior, and Messiah.  He died on the cross for you, and gave His pure, sinless blood to pay your sin debt.  The Lord Jesus Christ arose from the grave the third day, proving that His blood fully paid for your sins.  To be saved, you must CALL upon Him from your HEART.  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.”  “For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the LORD shall be SAVED” (Holy Bible, Romans 10:9,13, KJV).

After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save us, then God instructs us to openly confess Him by getting baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  When we go under the water, it pictures death to the old life of sin, and when we come up out of the water, it pictures a new life serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes, I just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me, and I desire to now live for Him.
